Job Title: API & Microservices Production Support Engineer (L3)

Job Summary:
We are seeking an Application Maintenance / Production Support Engineer to support API-driven platforms and microservices-based applications within WAM and OPI systems. The role focuses on maintaining system stability, handling incidents, and supporting API gateway platforms or Java-based microservices solutions. Candidates may be aligned to either API gateway (WAM) or Java microservices (OPI) streams based on their expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide L2/L3 production support for API gateway platforms and Java microservices applications
- Monitor system health, troubleshoot issues, and perform root cause analysis
- Support and maintain API management platforms such as Axway API Manager, API Gateway, or equivalent solutions
- Handle incident management, problem resolution, and service requests within defined SLAs
- Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and security teams for issue resolution and enhancements
- Perform deployment support, configuration, and system maintenance in Linux environments
- Develop and maintain support documentation and operational procedures
- Assist in performance tuning, log analysis, and system optimization
- Participate in on-call support rotations when required
Required Skills:
- 3-5 years of experience in application support or production support roles
- Strong hands-on experience in either:
- o API Gateway / API Management platforms (Axway, Apigee, Kong, Layer 7), OR
- o Java Spring Boot microservices development/support
- Strong knowledge of Java Spring Boot (mandatory for microservices track)
- Experience working with Unix/Linux environments (RHEL or equivalent)
- Experience with Oracle Database (12c/19c) and/or Cassandra DB
- Understanding of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, production support environment
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience with Solaris environments
- Familiarity with API security, authentication, and authorization mechanisms
- Basic scripting skills (Shell scripting) for automation
- Knowledge of DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines
- Exposure to monitoring and logging tools (e.g., ELK, Splunk)
- Understanding of ITIL processes and incident management frameworks
- Experience working in Agile environments
