SAP ABAP Developer

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled SAP ABAP Developer with advanced proficiency in SAP ABAP programming and a deep understanding of SAP business processes. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining custom solutions within the SAP landscape. This role requires hands-on experience in delivering innovative, high-quality application enhancements and integrations, as well as mentoring junior developers and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Application Development & Enhancement
Design, develop, test, and deploy high-performance ABAP solutions including reports, interfaces, enhancements, forms, and workflows.
Ensure adherence to SAP development standards and best practices.
Integration & Customization
Develop custom applications and interfaces between SAP and external systems using BAPIs, BADIs, IDocs, RFCs, and Web Services.
Work closely with SAP functional teams (MM, SD, FI, PP, etc.) to understand requirements and provide robust technical solutions.
Code Review & Optimization
Perform code reviews, optimization, and performance tuning for existing custom developments.
Maintain system documentation and version control of custom objects.
Testing & Validation
Conduct unit testing and support integration and user acceptance testing (UAT).
Ensure all developments are validated for accuracy, performance, and scalability.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Collaborate with business analysts, consultants, and end-users to translate functional requirements into technical specifications.
Participate in solution design sessions and provide expert input on technical feasibility.
Continuous Improvement
Stay up-to-date with the latest SAP technologies and best practices including SAP S/4HANA and Fiori/UI5.
Continuously seek opportunities to improve development processes and application performance.
Mentorship & Knowledge Sharing
Mentor junior developers, conduct technical training, and promote knowledge sharing within the development team.
Contribute to the development of internal coding standards and reusable components.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in SAP ABAP development across various modules.
Advanced proficiency in ABAP, including:
Classical and Interactive Reports
SmartForms, Adobe Forms
Module Pool Programming
BAPIs, BADIs, User Exits, Enhancements
ALE/IDOC, RFCs, and OData Services
Experience in full-cycle SAP implementations and system upgrades.
Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
Good understanding of relational databases and data modeling.
Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA, CDS Views, and ABAP RESTful Programming Model is a plus.
