Microsoft VDI Specialist

Responsibilities:

• Design, deploy, and manage Microsoft VDI solutions based on best practices.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and define VDI specifications.

• Implement and configure VDI components, including virtualization hosts, connection brokers, and user profiles.

• Monitor VDI performance and resource utilization, making adjustments as needed to ensure optimal user experience.

• Troubleshoot and resolve VDI-related issues, both independently and in collaboration with IT support teams.

• Implement security measures to protect the VDI environment from unauthorized access and data breaches.

• Maintain documentation of the VDI architecture, configurations, and procedures.

• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and Microsoft updates related to VDI and virtualization technologies.

• Provide technical guidance and training to IT staff and end-users on VDI usage and best practices.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• Proven experience designing, implementing, and managing Microsoft VDI solutions, including using technologies like Hyper-V, Remote Desktop Services (RDS), and Azure Virtual Desktop.

• In-depth understanding of virtualization concepts and technologies.

• Proficiency in configuring and optimizing Windows operating systems within a VDI environment.

• Familiarity with networking concepts and protocols relevant to VDI, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN.

• Experience with scripting and automation using PowerShell for VDI administration tasks.

• Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve VDI performance and connectivity issues.

• Knowledge of security practices and tools for securing VDI environments and sensitive data.

• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical teams.

• Relevant Microsoft certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Windows Virtual Desktop Specialty, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, or similar certifications, are a plus.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.

• Adaptability to a dynamic and evolving technology landscape.
