About the Opportunity:

Reporting to the Head of Procurement & Commercial or the Procurement & Commercial Manager, the Contract Manager will be responsible for the commercial management and administration of contracts across our Norwegian operations, ensuring successful delivery in line with all internal policies and procedures — including the Procurement Manual, Commercial Manual, and LCP Governance Framework Manual.

The role supports the delivery of departmental KPIs and objectives, including reductions in total cost of ownership, value engineering, and safety performance. The successful candidate will play a key part in supporting Soben, part of Accenture's growing portfolio of major projects across Norway and the wider Nordic region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supplier & Stakeholder Management — Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key suppliers and contractors across Norway and the Nordics, acting as a primary point of contact across allocated projects and contracts.
  • Sourcing Strategy — Collaborate with Category Managers and Procurement Officers (Strategic and Shared Service Centre) to ensure the optimal approach is taken when sourcing goods, works, and services.
  • Best Practice & Knowledge Sharing — Engage with peers across the Soben and Accenture network to review best practice, capture lessons learned, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Health & Safety — Comply with all safety policies and procedures, and actively promote safe working practices internally and externally to enhance safety performance.
  • Service Delivery — Support the Head of Procurement & Commercial and the Procurement & Commercial Manager(s) in delivering a world-class procurement and commercial service to internal customers.
  • Cost & Process Improvement — Identify supply chain cost-reduction opportunities and improvements to procurement and commercial processes.
  • Sourcing & Negotiation — Conduct sourcing events where required, procuring at lowest total cost of ownership and in line with the principles of efficiency and best value. This includes managing commercial, business, and legal project risks within contracts and negotiating terms and conditions to secure ongoing value for money throughout the contract lifecycle.
  • Contract Award — Compile, negotiate, and award Call-Off Contracts in line with the terms and provisions of overarching Agreements. Manage the interface between suppliers/contractors and internal stakeholders to ensure commercial controls are embedded throughout.
  • Budget & Delivery — Deliver allocated projects and contracts within approved budget authorisations and area of responsibility.
  • Post-Contract Management — Manage all post-contract commercial matters, including negotiating and agreeing compensation events, ensuring the core principles of the Commercial Manual are consistently applied.

Experience

  • Minimum of 8–10 years' experience in contract management, commercial management, or quantity surveying within infrastructure, energy, construction, or a comparable sector.
  • Experience delivering projects in Norway or the wider Nordic region is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrable experience managing the full contract lifecycle — from sourcing and negotiation through to post-contract administration and close-out.
  • Strong working knowledge of standard forms of contract (e.g., NS 8405/NS 8407, NEC3/NEC4, FIDIC) and familiarity with Norwegian contracting practices.
  • Proven track record of managing compensation events, variations, and claims in line with contractual provisions.

Technical Skills:

  • Sound understanding of procurement principles, commercial controls, and governance frameworks.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify risk and deliver value for money throughout the contract lifecycle.
  • Confident user of contract management and procurement systems; familiarity with digital contract tools and data-driven commercial reporting is advantageous.

Personal Attributes:

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication in English; Norwegian language skills are highly advantageous.
  • Client-facing experience with the confidence to manage internal and external stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated, organised, and able to manage competing priorities across multiple contracts.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Management, Engineering, Law, or a related discipline.
  • Professional accreditation preferred (e.g., MRICS, MCIPS, MCInstCES, or equivalent).
