Contract Managers are responsible for managing a portfolio of client contracts to maximize value for Accenture and our clients while ensuring compliance with contractual, commercial, and policy requirements. The role involves acting as a trusted commercial advisor to account leadership, clients, and delivery teams throughout the full contract lifecycle.
Contract Managers are client-facing, operate independently on complex engagements, and are expected to manage and coordinate the work of contract management professionals assigned to projects or accounts.
Key Responsibilities
Contract & Commercial Leadership
Act as contract management leads to complex engagements or portfolios, working closely with account leadership, sales, delivery, finance, and legal teams.
Advise on appropriate contract models, pricing structures, and relevant terms and conditions.
Serve as the primary commercial and contractual point of contact between project teams, business leadership, and Legal.
Contract Management & Compliance
Review, track, and manage contractual obligations, deliverables, variations, correspondence, and documentation to ensure compliance with contractual and policy requirements.
Independently apply contract management tools and techniques across assigned engagements.
Respond to complex inquiries related to contract terms, obligations, and revisions.
Risk & Issue Management
Identify commercial and contractual risks and issues, assess impact, and propose commercially sound mitigation strategies.
Escalate issues appropriately and support resolution to achieve optimal outcomes for Accenture and clients.
Negotiation & Deal Support
Participate confidently in contract negotiations with client counterparts.
Support pre-award and post-award activities, including deal shaping, contract drafting, and change management.
People & Stakeholder Management
Manage the daily workload of assigned contract management personnel and support their development.
Build and maintain trusted relationships with internal stakeholders and external client counterparts.
Develop a strong understanding of Accenture’s business areas to provide practical, business‑aligned advice to senior management.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree required
Preferred fields: Law, Contract Management, Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, or a related discipline
Experience
Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in contract management, commercial management, procurement, or a related field
Experience managing complex or high‑risk engagements
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
Strong understanding of commercial contracting principles, contract structures, and subcontracting practices
Experience reviewing, managing, and mobilizing contracts throughout the contract lifecycle
Ability to apply sound business judgment and identify optimal commercial solutions
Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Able to advise and interact effectively with senior executives and client leadership
Strong analytical, organizational, and prioritization skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Advanced Dutch and professional English proficiency
