Summary:
As a Cloud DevOps Engineer, a typical day involves designing, deploying, automating, and managing scalable cloud infrastructure and containerized applications across AWS and GCP environments. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to build reliable CI/CD pipelines, manage Kubernetes platforms, automate infrastructure provisioning, and maintain effective monitoring and observability solutions. The engineer will also support data and messaging platforms while ensuring the stability, scalability, security, and performance of cloud-native environments.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Expected to be an SME, collaborate and manage the team to perform.
- Responsible for team decisions related to cloud infrastructure, DevOps automation, and container orchestration.
- Engage with multiple teams and contribute to key technical and architectural decisions.
- Provide solutions to complex infrastructure, deployment, Kubernetes, and production issues for the immediate team and across multiple teams.
- Design, deploy, and manage scalable infrastructure across AWS and GCP cloud platforms.
Manage containerized applications and Kubernetes clusters using Docker, EKS, GKE, Helm, and ArgoCD.
- Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and TeamCity.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Terraform and Ansible.
- Implement GitOps practices using Git/GitHub and ArgoCD.
- Develop automation solutions using Shell/Bash and Python scripting.
- Implement and maintain monitoring and observability solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, and Telegraf.
- Troubleshoot cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, CI/CD, networking, database, and application deployment issues.
- Support data and messaging platforms including Kafka, Zookeeper, Apache Iceberg, Hadoop, HBase, and Dagster.
- Manage PostgreSQL/AWS RDS environments, including database backup and restoration activities.
- Implement DevOps and cloud best practices to improve platform reliability, scalability, automation, and operational efficiency.
- Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance on cloud, Kubernetes, automation, and DevOps practices.
- Coordinate with application, infrastructure, database, and data teams to align technical solutions with business requirements.
Professional & Technical Skills:
- Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in AWS, Kubernetes, EKS, Docker, Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible, ArgoCD, Helm, Prometheus, and Grafana.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of AWS services including EC2, IAM, VPC, S3, ELB, Route 53, ECR, RDS, and EKS.
- Experience with GCP services including Compute Engine and Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
- Strong knowledge of containerization and container orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience in deploying and managing applications on EKS and GKE clusters.
- Hands-on experience with GitOps-based deployment and application management using ArgoCD and Helm.
- Strong experience in CI/CD implementation and automation using Jenkins and TeamCity.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code and configuration management using Terraform and Ansible.
- Proficiency with Git/GitHub for source-code and configuration management.
- Experience in automation and scripting using Shell/Bash and Python.
- Strong knowledge of monitoring and observability using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, and Telegraf.
- Working knowledge of Kafka and Zookeeper for messaging and distributed environments.
- Familiarity with data platforms and technologies including Apache Iceberg, Hadoop, HBase, and Dagster.
- Experience with PostgreSQL and AWS RDS, including database backup and restoration using pg dump and pg restore.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes clusters, CI/CD pipelines, databases, and distributed systems.
Additional Information:
- The candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in Cloud/DevOps technologies with strong hands-on experience in Kubernetes and AWS.
- Experience with production-grade Kubernetes environments and automation is preferred.
- Exposure to data engineering platforms such as Kafka, Hadoop, HBase, Apache Iceberg, and Dagster will be an added advantage.
- A 15 years full-time education is required.
