Summary:
Lead major SAP Fiori/UI5 engineering workstreams and end-to-end technical assessments for complex SAP programmes. Own UI5/Fiori delivery recovery, establish evidence-based remediation options, and manage senior client, systems-integrator and multidisciplinary stakeholders.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Lead rapid diagnostics across SAPUI5/Fiori architecture, UX, custom development, OData integration, CDS annotations, testing, performance, security, accessibility and release readiness.
Assess application portfolio health, scope integrity, defects, technical debt, dependencies and go-live risks establish evidence-based RAG ratings, risk logs and prioritised remediation backlogs.
Develop recovery options covering scope, sequencing, phased releases, technical-debt treatment, resourcing, cost, timeline and delivery risk.
Provide technical leadership for SAPUI5 development using XML views, controllers, fragments, reusable components and modular development practices.
Govern SAP Fiori Elements and freestyle UI5 implementation decisions, including List Report/Object Page patterns and extension approaches.
Assure SI architecture, estimates, contractual deliverables, code quality, test evidence and release outputs against agreed UI5/Fiori engineering standards.
Ensure effective integration with SAP S/4HANA through OData services, CDS-based services and upgrade-safe extensibility patterns.
Lead architecture reviews, recovery workshops, governance routines and re-baselining discussions with client and SI leadership.
Drive performance remediation, accessibility, secure development, maintainability and automated testing practices.
Coach UI5/Fiori leads and developers and establish reusable engineering standards, review checklists and delivery methods.
Professional & Technical Skills:
Must have
Deep hands-on experience in SAPUI5 and SAP Fiori application development.
Strong JavaScript, XML Views, controllers, fragments, routing, models, data binding and reusable component development.
Strong OData experience and integration between UI5/Fiori and SAP backend applications.
SAP Fiori Elements, annotations and SAP Fiori design principles.
SAP Business Application Studio and modern SAP application development practices.
Debugging, performance optimisation, application security, testing, Git/version control and CI/CD practices.
Ability to review application architecture and code and translate findings into executable technical remediation.
Good to have
SAP BTP development and extension experience.
CDS Views and SAP S/4HANA development/extensibility.
SAP Build and SAP Cloud ALM exposure.
Fiori Launchpad configuration and governance.
Clean-core and upgrade-safe extensibility knowledge.
Recovery Experience
Demonstrated experience leading distressed SAP application diagnostics, stabilisation and turnaround planning, with evidence of recovering critical technical workstreams, reducing go-live risk or restoring delivery confidence.
AI and Digital Expectations
Use approved AI tools, including Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT or approved enterprise LLMs, to accelerate requirements and design analysis, defect investigation, code understanding, test preparation and documentation.
Apply AI-assisted analysis to identify risks, dependencies, inconsistencies and recurring patterns across defects, technical debt, RAID items, test evidence and delivery data.
Apply human validation and comply with confidentiality, security, bias-awareness, traceability and client and organisational policies for all AI-assisted outputs.
Leadership and Stakeholder Competencies
Lead senior client and SI technical discussions and communicate technical risks in business terms.
Coach development leads and assure engineering output.
Challenge delivery assumptions constructively and escalate material issues using clear evidence.
Facilitate architecture, remediation and recovery decisions across cross-functional teams.
Desirable Experience
SAP certification relevant to Fiori/UI5, SAP BTP or SAP S/4HANA development.
Large-scale SAP S/4HANA transformation or AMS experience.
Multi-vendor SI delivery and programme-assurance exposure.
Additional Information:
A 15 years full time education is required.
