As an Operations Engineer, a typical day involves overseeing the smooth functioning of production systems and services, ensuring they meet operational requirements and service agreements. This role requires continuous monitoring, managing delivery processes, and addressing any issues that arise to maintain system reliability and performance. The position demands coordination with various teams to uphold service standards and support operational excellence throughout the day.
Job Title: F5 Load Balancer (GTM) SME
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor, maintain, troubleshoot F5 BIG-IP environment. 2nd level support for load balancer issues. Escalate complex problems to L3.
- Monitor F5 BIG-IP health, alerts, traffic stats
- Handle tickets: pool member down, VIP unreachable, SSL cert expiry
- Enable/disable pool members during maintenance
- Document incidents, resolutions in ticketing tool
- Create runbooks for standard procedures
- Create runbook for change activities , OS upgrade and solution planning.
- Create and Represent the change to the Architect/Engineering team and get it approve for the deployment
- Coordinate planned changes with change mgmt team
Technical Experience:
-F5 BIG-IP knowledge (Virtual Servers, Pools, Nodes, Monitors)
- Design and administration of F5 BIG-IP DNS (formerly GTM).
- Global application traffic distribution across data centres, regions and cloud environments.
- DNS Wide IPs, pools, virtual servers and GTM/DNS topology configuration.
- GSLB (Global Server Load Balancing) implementation.
- Administration and architecture of F5 BIG-IP Local Traffic Manager (LTM).
- Virtual Server, Pool, Pool Member and Node configuration.
- Advanced iRules and traffic-management policies.
- L4/L7 load balancing and application traffic management.
- SSL/TLS offloading, re-encryption and certificate management.
- Understand HTTP/HTTPS, TCP/UDP, DNS
- Read traffic logs, identify errors (503, 502, connection reset)
- Basic Linux/CLI comfort
- Ticketing tool use (ServiceNow/Jira)
Professional Attributes:
-F5 Certified BIG-IP Administrator (101/201)
- SSL/TLS cert management
- SNAT, NAT concepts
Shift Details:
24*7 shift
RTO- 3 days office presence
Additional Information:
- The candidate should have minimum 5 years of experience in Network Infrastructures.
- This position is based at our Pune office.
- A 15 years full time education is required.
