Summary:
As an Application Support Engineer, a typical day involves acting as a software detective by investigating and resolving issues across various components of essential business systems. This role requires a proactive approach to monitoring system performance, diagnosing problems, and ensuring smooth operation of critical applications. The position demands continuous engagement with system environments to maintain stability and support business continuity, often requiring collaboration with different teams to address complex challenges effectively.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Role: Tech Support Analyst
- Act as the ongoing interface between the admin team and the system or client/application.
- Dedicated to quality, using exceptional communication skills to keep our world class systems running.
- Can accurately define a client issue and can interpret and report to next level on timely basis.
- Ability to operate independently in shift and make decisions with little direct supervision.
Professional & Technical Skills:
- Must have 2+ years of AS/400 system Operations/monitoring experience.
- Knowledge on server daily health check activities, Patching, BRMS, MIMIX monitoring, Job Management, Data FTP, HMC, SST, ALT & VTL.
- Knowledge on IT Operations and Monitoring.
- Worked on support model. e) Monitor/ Running Backup s and restoration.
- Monitor alerts on tools The resource should have very good communication skills.
- The resource should have a good knowledge on ITIL concepts (Incident, problem & change management skills)
- Good verbal and written communication skill to connect with customer at varying levels of the organization.
- Flexible to work in 247 environments
Additional Information:
Good to Have Skills:
- Monitor AS400 Servers and reporting along with BRMS, MIMIX, ALT & VTL, Patching, Job Management, HMC, SST.
- Collecting information and reporting to L3 Lead on timely basis.
Must have Skills:
- IBM AS /400 Operations and Monitoring
