Role Summary
The Oracle Database Administrator will support DWH production and non production databases, ensuring high availability, performance, and data integrity. The role involves day to day DBA operations, monitoring, incident resolution, and coordination with application and infrastructure teams in a banking environment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform Oracle database administration activities across Dev, Test, and Production environments
Monitor database health, capacity, and performance conduct regular health checks
Manage backup and recovery using RMAN and support restore activities when required
Handle user management, roles, privileges, and database security
Perform SQL and performance tuning, including AWR/ASH analysis
Support database refreshes, cloning, and data movement using Data Pump
Apply patches, PSU updates, and minor upgrades as per change process
Troubleshoot production issues and provide L2/L3 DBA support
Coordinate with application, Unix, and infra teams during incidents and changes
Follow ITIL processes (incident, problem, change management) and maintain documentation
Mandatory Skills
Hands on experience in Oracle DBA (19c)
Strong knowledge of RMAN backup & recovery
Good understanding of SQL / PL SQL
Experience in performance tuning and troubleshooting
Working knowledge of Unix/Linux commands
Exposure to production support environments
Good to Have
Exposure to Data Guard / RAC (basic to intermediate)
Experience in Data Warehouse (DWH) or Banking domain
Familiarity with OEM or database monitoring tools
Understanding of Informatica / ETL based ecosystems
Knowledge of Oracle Exadata
