Summary:
As an Application Support Engineer, a typical day involves acting as a software detective by investigating and resolving issues across various components of essential business systems. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying problems, analyzing system behavior, and ensuring the smooth operation of critical applications. The position demands continuous monitoring, collaboration with different teams, and delivering timely solutions to maintain system reliability and performance in a dynamic environment.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Expected to be an SME, collaborate and manage the team to perform.
- Responsible for team decisions.
- Engage with multiple teams and contribute on key decisions.
- Provide solutions to problems for their immediate team and across multiple teams.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure alignment of support activities with business needs.
- Mentor junior team members to enhance their technical and problem-solving skills.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize support processes and system stability.
Professional & Technical Skills:
- Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in Sybase Database Administration (DBA).
- Experience in database performance tuning, backup and recovery strategies, and troubleshooting complex database issues.
- Strong knowledge of database security, user management, and data replication techniques.
- Ability to monitor database health and implement preventive maintenance tasks.
- Familiarity with scripting and automation to streamline database administration tasks.
Additional Information:
- The candidate should have minimum 5 years of experience in Sybase Database Administration (DBA).
- This position is based at our Bengaluru office.
- A 15 years full time education is required.
