Project Role Description : Design, implement and maintain databases. Install database management systems (DMBS). Develop procedures for day-to-day maintenance and problem resolution.

Summary:
As a Database Administrator (BM DB2 LUW), you will engage in the design, implementation, and maintenance of databases. Your typical day will involve installing database management systems, developing procedures for daily maintenance, and resolving any issues that arise. You will work collaboratively with team members to ensure optimal database performance and reliability, while also contributing to the overall success of the organization through effective database management practices.
Key Responsibilities
Database Administer and support IBM DB2 databases in production and non-production environments
Perform DB2 installation, configuration, upgrades, and patching
Monitor database performance and proactively tune SQL, indexes, and database configuration parameters
Manage high availability and disaster recovery solutions (HADR)
Execute and validate backup, restore, and recovery procedures
Execute DB2 Reorg & Runstats
Handle database incidents, problem management, and root cause analysis
Support application teams during deployments, migrations, and performance issues
Participate in on-call support and planned maintenance activities
Required Skills & Experience
6+ years of hands-on experience in IBM DB2 database administration
Strong expertise in DB2 architecture, memory management, and storage concepts
Proven experience in DB2 performance tuning and troubleshooting
Experience with DB2 HADR setup, failover testing, and cluster environments
Strong SQL skills and understanding of query execution plans
Proficiency in Linux/UNIX OS and shell scripting
Experience supporting mission-critical, high-availability systems
Knowledge of backup tools and recovery strategies
Familiarity with monitoring tools (IBM Data Server Manager, custom scripts, etc.)
Exposure on DB2 v11.5 versions.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and take ownership of database environments
Experience working in 24x7 production support environments
Good communication skills to interact with applications, infrastructure, and business teams
Ability to mentor junior DBAs and review their work
Well-organized, detail-oriented, and quality-focused
Experience working in Agile / DevOps environments is a plus

Flexible working in shifts or on-call rotation if required
Experience in regulated environments (banking, insurance, healthcare) is an advantage
. As project requirement, resource needs to work between Sunday to Thursday and weekly off will be on Fri & Sat during
project role duration.
