Summary: We are looking for an experienced Senior Engineer with strong expertise in Backup & Recovery solutions using Rubrik. The role involves managing, supporting, and enhancing enterprise backup environments, ensuring data protection, compliance, and recoverability across on-prem and cloud platforms. Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and manage Rubrik-based backup and recovery solutions for enterprise workloads Perform day-to-day operations including backup monitoring, failure analysis, and recovery testing Handle incident, problem, and change management related to backup & recovery services Perform restore operations (file-level, VM-level, application-level) within defined SLAs Plan and execute backup strategy, retention policies, and SLA alignment Support DR drills, audits, and compliance requirements Integrate Rubrik with platforms such as VMware, Windows, Linux, databases, and cloud workloads (AWS/Azure) Perform capacity planning, performance tuning, and lifecycle management Work with cross-functional teams (Server, Storage, Cloud, Security) to ensure end-to-end data protection Create and maintain operational documentation, SOPs, and runbooks Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance Technical Skills Required Primary Skills: Strong hands-on experience with Rubrik CDM Backup & recovery concepts, RPO/RTO, retention, replication VMware backup and recovery Windows & Linux server backups Secondary / Good to Have: Cloud backup exposure (AWS / Azure) Database backups (SQL, Oracle – basic understanding) Integration with monitoring tools and ticketing systems Knowledge of security, ransomware protection, and immutability Experience & Qualifications 4-6+ years of overall IT infrastructure experience 4+ years of hands-on experience in Backup & Recovery tools, preferably Rubrik Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills ITIL process awareness Rubrik certification is a plus Soft Skills Strong communication and stakeholder management Ability to work independently and take ownership Proactive problem-solving mindset Willingness to work in shifts / on-call support (if required)
