Summary: As a Cloud Platform Engineer, you will engage in the design, construction, testing, and deployment of cloud application solutions that seamlessly integrate both cloud and non-cloud infrastructures. Your typical day will involve collaborating with various teams to ensure the architecture's viability, security, and performance, while also creating proof of concepts to validate your designs. You will be responsible for deploying infrastructure and platform environments, ensuring that all components work harmoniously together to meet organizational goals and client needs. Your role will require a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions in a dynamic environment. Roles & Responsibilities: - Expected to be an SME. - Manage our Azure Kubernetes infrastructure, including cluster setup, configuration, and ongoing lifecycle management. - Have a keen eye for performance, cost and quality of life improvements at all levels of the platform - Administer and optimize our GitLab instance, including user management, CI/CD pipeline configuration, and repository management. - Develop and maintain automation tools and scripts to streamline platform operations and improve efficiency. - Implement and maintain monitoring and logging solutions to ensure platform observability and proactively identify potential issues. - Provide technical support and guidance to development teams on platform usage, best practices, and troubleshooting. - Collaborate with other engineering teams to integrate platform services and ensure seamless workflows. - Contribute to the development and maintenance of platform documentation and knowledge bases. - Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation to provide timely support for critical platform issues. - Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in cloud-native computing, DevOps, and platform engineering. Professional & Technical Skills: - Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in Kubernetes. - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Hands-on experience is worth more than certifications alone. - Extensive experience in administering Kubernetes clusters in a production environment. Understanding of the application lifecycle in Kubernetes as well as security best practices and efficient resource management of workloads on Kubernetes. This skill is not negotiable. Kubernetes is at the heart of everything we do at Mirai and demonstratable skills in this domain are required to be effective. - Experience developing, maintaining and optimising applications for Kubernetes using Helm - Experience with Azure (AKS, Storage accounts, Key Vaults, Disks, Networking, Security, RBAC) - Experience with Azure DevOps CI/CD - Experience with GitLab administration and CI/CD pipeline configuration. - Solid understanding of containerization technologies (Docker) and related tools. The successful candidate can build, maintain and fix docker build issues with ease. - Solid hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform). Understanding of modules and DRY coding techniques to keep Terraform code maintainable and reusable. - Strong understanding of cloud architecture and deployment strategies. - Experience with container orchestration and management. - Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools. - Knowledge of security best practices in cloud environments. Additional Information: - The candidate should have minimum 5 years of experience in Kubernetes. - This position is based at our Bengaluru office. - A 15 years full time education is required.
