Infra Tech Support Practitioner
Project Role Description : Provide ongoing technical support and maintenance of production and development systems and software products (both remote and onsite) and for configured services running on various platforms (operating within a defined operating model and processes). Provide hardware/software support and implement technology at the operating system-level across all server and network areas, and for particular software solutions/vendors/brands. Work includes L1 and L2/ basic and intermediate level troubleshooting.

Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) System Administrator with around 5 years of hands-on experience in managing, maintaining, and supporting Linux-based infrastructure. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in RHEL administration, server operations, system performance tuning, security, and troubleshooting in enterprise environments. Roles & Responsibilities: - Install, configure, administer, and maintain RHEL 7/8/9 servers - Perform system monitoring, performance tuning, and capacity planning - Handle user and group management, permissions, and access control - Manage disk partitions, LVM, file systems, and mount points - Apply OS patches, security updates, and kernel upgrades - Troubleshoot system-level issues related to CPU, memory, disk, and network - Configure and manage services and daemons (systemd) - Manage boot process, GRUB, and run levels/targets - Perform backup and restore operations using standard tools - Implement and maintain security hardening (SELinux, firewalld, sudo) - Monitor logs and perform root cause analysis for incidents - Support production, staging, and development environments - Work with cross-functional teams for issue resolution and system improvements - Create and maintain system documentation and SOPs - Participate in on-call support and incident management Professional & Technical Skills: - 5+ years of experience as a Linux / RHEL System Administrator - Strong hands-on experience with RHEL 7/8/9 - Good knowledge of Linux OS architecture and internals - Expertise in: - LVM, file systems (ext4, xfs) - User/group administration - Systemd services - Network configuration (TCP/IP, DNS, NTP, SSH) - Experience with patch management and security updates - Knowledge of SELinux and firewalld - Shell scripting (Bash) for automation and administration - Experience with server monitoring tools - Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Additional Information: - Red Hat certifications (RHCSA / RHCE) - Experience with VMware / Virtualization - Basic knowledge of Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) is a plus - Exposure to Ansible or automation tools - Knowledge of backup tools and storage concepts - The candidate should have minimum 5 years of experience in Red Hat OS Administration. - This position is based at our Kolkata office. - A 15 years full time education is required.
