Infra Tech Support Practitioner
Project Role Description : Provide ongoing technical support and maintenance of production and development systems and software products (both remote and onsite) and for configured services running on various platforms (operating within a defined operating model and processes). Provide hardware/software support and implement technology at the operating system-level across all server and network areas, and for particular software solutions/vendors/brands. Work includes L1 and L2/ basic and intermediate level troubleshooting.

Summary: The Senior VMware/Nutanix/VxRail Administrator will be responsible for managing, optimizing, and supporting virtualized and hyperconverged infrastructure across multiple client environments. This role requires deep technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and experience in delivering enterprise-grade infrastructure services in a managed services model. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities: • Administer and maintain multi-tenant VMware, Nutanix, and VxRail infrastructures supporting multiple client environments. • Perform configuration, upgrades, and patching of VMware vSphere, vCenter, Nutanix AHV, and Dell VxRail clusters. • Monitor infrastructure health, capacity, and performance across client environments, proactively identifying and resolving issues. • Manage VM lifecycle operations — provisioning, cloning, migration, snapshot management, and resource optimization. • Support VxRail lifecycle management (LCM) including firmware updates, cluster expansion, and integration with vSAN. • Oversee Nutanix operations (AOS, Prism Central, AHV) including replication, DR setup, and security compliance. • Plan and execute backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity procedures across heterogeneous platforms. • Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues across compute, storage, and virtual networking layers. • Implement automation for routine operations using PowerCLI, Ansible, or Python to improve efficiency and consistency. • Collaborate with network, storage, and security teams to ensure end-to-end service reliability and compliance. • Support client onboarding, migrations, and infrastructure transformation initiatives. • Participate in incident, change, and problem management processes following ITIL standards. • Maintain detailed documentation of configurations, SOPs, and client-specific environments. • Provide 24x7 support (on-call rotation) for critical client environments as part of the managed services model. • Mentor junior administrators and contribute to knowledge base development. ________________________________________ Required Skills & Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience. • 10+ years of overall IT infrastructure experience with at least 5+ years in VMware/Nutanix/VxRail administration. • In-depth knowledge of: o VMware vSphere 7.x/8.x, vCenter, vSAN, ESXi, vRealize Suite o Nutanix o Dell EMC VxRail architecture, LCM, and hardware management • Strong understanding of hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) concepts and best practices. • Experience supporting multi-customer environments with strict SLA adherence. • Familiarity with disaster recovery tools (VMware SRM, Zerto, etc.). • Scripting proficiency in PowerCLI, PowerShell, Python, or Ansible. • Solid understanding of storage (SAN/NAS/vSAN) and virtual networking (VDS/NSX) concepts. • Working knowledge of monitoring, alerting, and ticketing tools (vROps, SolarWinds, ServiceNow, etc.). • Excellent communication skills with a strong customer-oriented mindset. ________________________________________ Preferred Skills & Certifications: • VMware Certified Professional – Data Center Virtualization (VCP-DCV) or higher. • Nutanix Certified Professional (NCP/MCP) certification. • Dell EMC VxRail Specialist or Implementation Engineer certification. • Exposure to public cloud integration (Azure VMware Solution, AWS VMC, Nutanix Cloud Clusters). • Experience in MSP or IT outsourcing environments with multi-tenant infrastructure management. • Familiarity with automation and orchestration tools (Terraform, Ansible, vRealize Automation). • Strong documentation and client communication skills.
