Summary: As a Database Administrator, you will engage in the design, implementation, and maintenance of databases. Your typical day will involve installing database management systems, developing procedures for daily maintenance, and resolving any issues that arise. You will work closely with various teams to ensure optimal database performance and reliability, contributing to the overall success of the organization through effective database management. Roles & Responsibilities: - Expected to be an SME. - Collaborate and manage the team to perform. - Responsible for team decisions. - Engage with multiple teams and contribute on key decisions. - Provide solutions to problems for their immediate team and across multiple teams. - Monitor database performance and implement improvements as necessary. - Assist in the development of database policies and procedures to ensure data integrity. - Provision and configure Oracle databases on Exadata Cloud at Customer infrastructure. - Monitor and optimize performance using Exadata features like Smart Scan and Storage Indexes. - Manage backup and recovery operations using RMAN and Zero Data Loss Recovery Appliance - Apply patches and upgrades in coordination with Oracle support and internal teams. - Ensure data security and compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., GDPR, BaFin). - Automate routine tasks using tools like Scripts ,Ansible, or Oracle Cloud CLI. - Troubleshoot incidents and perform root cause analysis for performance or availability issues. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams including application, infrastructure, and security groups. - Maintain documentation and runbooks for operational procedures and configurations Professional & Technical Skills: - Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in Oracle Database Administration. - Strong understanding of database design principles and best practices. - Experience with performance tuning and optimization of database systems. - Familiarity with backup and recovery strategies for database management. - Knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL programming languages. - Expertise in Oracle Database technologies, including ASM, Data Guard, and RMAN. - Hands-on experience with Exadata Cloud at Customer, leveraging features like Smart Scan and Hybrid Columnar Compression. - Strong SQL and PL/SQL skills, with a focus on performance tuning and query optimization. - Proficiency in Linux/Unix environments, shell scripting, and automation tools like Ansible or Terraform. - Knowledge of backup/recovery strategies, including ZDLRA, and workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Control-M). - Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices, integrating database operations into modern development workflows. Additional Information: - The candidate should have minimum 7.5 years of experience in Oracle Database Administration. - This position is based at our Hyderabad office. - A 15 years full time education is required.
