Summary: We are looking for a skilled Kafka Administrator to join our team . In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, configuring, and managing Kafka clusters, ensuring high availability and performance of our data streaming platform. You will work closely with development and operations teams to design and implement Kafka solutions that meet our business needs. Scope: EMES core platform, components, interfaces, custom tools, and any customizations that support digital manufacturing systems and operations including: • Material and Inventory modules • Order management • Equipment and instrument integration • Sample management • Patient scheduling system integration • Label printing • General automatic recipe functionality • Custom business recipe capabilities • Batch reporting and analytics Key Responsibilities: • Install, configure, and maintain Kafka clusters in production and development environments • Monitor Kafka performance and troubleshoot issues related to brokers, producers, and consumers • Implement best practices for data ingestion, retention, and processing within the Kafka ecosystem • Develop and maintain documentation regarding configuration, processes, and procedures • Optimize Kafka cluster performance and capacity planning • Work closely with application teams to understand data flow requirements and provide support for Kafka integration Qualifications (Required): • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field. • 5+ years of experience as a Kafka Administrator or in a similar role • Strong understanding of Kafka architecture, streaming concepts, and related technologies • Experience with Kafka management tools such as Confluent Control Center, Kafka Manager, or similar • Familiarity with cloud technologies and containerization (e.g., AWS, Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment Desirable Attributes • Hands-on expertise with Python 3.x, FastAPI framework, Docker, Kubernetes. • Experience in building RESTful APIs, asynchronous services, and Kafka-based event streaming platforms. • Knowledge of manufacturing process automation, MES platforms, and pharmaceutical compliance. • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and collaboration skills. • Ability to work independently and drive initiatives in cross-functional, global teams.
