Job Summary (Siemens Opcenter version):
We are seeking a highly skilled MES Application Development Lead with hands-on experience in Siemens Opcenter Execution (Discrete, Electronics, / Process/Pharma) . The candidate will be instrumental in delivering, maintaining, and upgrading MES solutions as part of a multi-year, global manufacturing digital transformation. Responsibilities include driving migration from legacy MES systems to Siemens Opcenter 2210 or newer, ensuring multisite rollout compliance, and integrating with enterprise systems like SAP ERP and shopfloor control systems (e.g., PLCs, OPC UA/DA). The role spans end-to-end MES lifecycle ownership—from requirements and design through development, deployment, and support—while adhering to ITIL service management and global collaboration standards.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Lead the design, development, configuration, and deployment of Siemens Opcenter MES (Discrete / Execution Core / / Process/Pharma) solutions
Drive migration projects from legacy MES platforms (e.g., Apriso) to Siemens Opcenter 2210/2310
Extend Opcenter UIs with custom POD (Production Operator Dashboard) plugins and web-based interfaces, including Android handhelds and HMIs
Design and implement MES-to-SAP integrations using Opcenter Integration Framework (OIF) or custom middleware
Integrate Opcenter MES with industrial automation and control systems via OPC UA/DA and PLCs (Siemens, Rockwell, etc.)
Ensure solutions are multisite-capable, version-controlled, regression-tested, and ready for global rollout
Handle incident and change management using ITSM tools (e.g., Jira/ServiceNow) in a 24x7 support environment
Conduct unit, system, and stress testing, code reviews, and performance optimizations
Collaborate with global delivery teams (India, Poland, etc.) and manage stakeholder communication effectively
Contribute to release planning, service continuity, and minimize disruptions during deployment or upgrades
Propose standardization practices, reusable components, and best practices for Opcenter MES delivery and support
Professional & Technical Skills:
Must-Have: Siemens Opcenter Execution (MES) — Discrete or Electronics modules, Ignition SCADA, Java, SQL/PLSQL
Strong experience with Opcenter MOM architecture, POD customization, and scripting (JavaScript, C#, or VB.NET) for Opcenter extensions
Familiar with Opcenter Integration Framework (OIF), REST APIs, and SAP-MES data flows
Deep knowledge of industrial communication protocols (OPC UA/DA, MQTT) and integration with control systems
Proficient in working with Oracle/PostgreSQL databases, DevOps, and source control (Git, SVN)
Demonstrated ability to manage end-to-end MES implementation projects and ERP integration
Good understanding of ITIL-based support models, incident management, and change control
Qualifications:
Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related engineering discipline
experience in MES, manufacturing IT, or industrial automation systems
Experience in automotive, electronics, or industrial manufacturing domains
Strong communication, team collaboration, and analytical skills
Certifications in Siemens Opcenter, Ignition Gold, or equivalent MES tools are a plus
Additional Details:
Location: Bengaluru, India
Must be flexible to support global time zones and work in a distributed Agile/DevOps model
Availability for on-site client workshops and rotational support coverage is required
15 years of full-time education is mandatory
