Summary: This role is for a seasoned Utilities and Energy industry domain expert with a strong background in functional consulting and digital transformation initiatives. The consultant will work closely with teams to guide, validate, and shape simulation-led solutions for utilities clients, especially within energy-based industries such as power generation, transmission & distribution, renewables, and energy-intensive manufacturing. Your domain expertise, functional leadership, and client engagement capabilities will position Simulation practice as a leader in warehouse digital twin and simulation solutions. The role demands deep functional knowledge of utility operations, regulatory environments, asset management, and operational planning, enabling the simulation COE to deliver high-impact, industry-relevant solutions using advanced simulation and digital twin platforms. Roles & Responsibilities: 1. Develop and implement simulation strategies 2. Identify new business opportunities, contributing to solutioning, proposal development, and client presentations. 3. Lead end-to-end simulation projects, creating and validating models for Utilities- Energy Industry using industry-standard simulation tools. 4.Provide functional and domain leadership for simulation engagements in Utilities and Energy industry. 5.Translate utility business challenges into simulation and digital twin use cases across generation, transmission, distribution, and energy networks. 6. Guide simulation teams in modeling real-world utility operations such as load balancing, capacity planning, outage management, asset lifecycle optimization, and energy flow optimization. 7. Collaborate with technical simulation experts using tools like Tecnomatix, AnyLogic, FlexSim, and similar platforms to ensure functional accuracy and business relevance. 8. Support client engagements, workshops, and value discovery sessions, articulating simulation benefits to senior utility stakeholders. 9. Contribute to solution design, proposals, RFP responses, and business development initiatives for Utilities and Energy clients. 10. Mentor and coach simulation engineers and junior consultants on utilities domain concepts and industry best practices. 11. Develop industry-specific simulation frameworks, reference architectures, and reusable assets for the Manufacturing Simulation COE. Professional & Technical Skills: Must Have Skills: 1. 10 to 12 years of experience in Utilities and Energy industry in functional, operations, consulting, or transformation roles. 2. Strong domain expertise in one or more areas: Power Generation (Thermal, Hydro, Renewable), Transmission & Distribution, Utilities Asset Management, or Energy Operations. 3. Hands-on experience with operational planning, capacity planning, reliability engineering, outage management, or network optimization in utilities. 4. Ability to define, validate, and govern simulation models from a business and functional perspective. 5. Proven track record of delivering simulation projects with significant business impact (e.g., Energy Saving, cost savings). 6. Strong stakeholder management skills with ability to engage plant managers, operations heads, and regulatory stakeholders. 7. Experience working in consulting or global delivery environments is highly preferred. 8. Ability to translate Industry requirements into simulation models that support various efficiency improvement aspects in Energy Industry Good to Have Skills: 9. Exposure to digital twin initiatives, simulation-led decision support, or advanced analytics in utilities. 10. Understanding of renewable energy integration, grid modernization, smart grids, or energy transition initiatives. 11. Knowledge of utility regulatory frameworks, safety standards, and compliance requirements. 12. Familiarity with sustainability, decarbonization, and energy efficiency programs. 13. Experience working with global utility clients across regions. 14. Understanding of ISA-95 and MESA & International Standards for Energy Industry Tooling / Platform Exposure: 15. Utility Systems: SCADA, Energy Management System (EMS), Distribution Management System (DMS), Outage Management System (OMS), Geographic Information System (GIS), Asset Management Systems (EAM). 16. Simulation & Analytics (Exposure): Tecnomatix, AnyLogic, FlexSim, System Dynamics tools and other tools applicable to Energy Industry Leadership & Behavioral Competencies: 17. Strong industry thought leadership mindset with ability to shape utility-focused simulation offerings. 18. Ability to bridge the gap between technical simulation teams and utility business stakeholders. 19. Strategic thinking aligned with energy transition, grid modernization, and digital utility trends. 20. Mentorship and people development orientation within a COE and delivery unit. 21. High adaptability to evolving utility regulations, technologies, and market dynamics. Additional Info: 1. Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering 2. Industry certifications related to Utilities, Energy Management and Asset Management 3. This position is based in Bangalore. 4. Candidate should have a minimum of 10 to 12 years of relevant experience.
