Step into Tech – Master’s Degree Apprenticeship

Kickstart a career change into technology with our Level 7 apprenticeship programme, combining a software engineering job and a fully funded master’s degree.

Unlock your hidden technology talent

You don’t need to have studied computer science to get into tech. This 2-year Digital and Technology Solutions apprenticeship programme is aimed at individuals without technical backgrounds who want to kickstart their career in technology. Apprentices who successfully complete this programme will earn a fully funded MSc Digital and Technology Solutions master’s degree.

In addition to obtaining a nationally recognised master’s degree, you will also gain invaluable work experience at Accenture, the world’s leading management consulting and technology company. You’ll develop expertise across a range of capabilities including digital, web, data, cyber security, cloud computing, innovation, project management, application and infrastructure development.

Programme information

You will help drive and deliver business transformation for our clients around the world through designing, building, testing and deploying strategic solutions for them. At the same time, you will develop industry-leading specialist skills and gain real in-depth knowledge across businesses and technologies.

Applications are now open for Manchester and Newcastle. Places are filled on a first-come, first-served basis – please apply early to avoid disappointment.

As well your degree studies, you’ll receive training and mentoring from subject matter specialists across Accenture – people who continue to maximise technology to transform businesses. You’ll also get flexible study leave as you pursue your master’s degree, allowing you to manage your university obligations effectively.

To be eligible, you’ll need a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent qualification) in any subject and will need to have achieved at least a 2:2. It is preferable for you to also have a grade 4 (grade C in older grading system) or above in GCSE Maths and English. Equivalent international qualifications will also be accepted. This course is not appropriate for programming or software engineering graduates.

Most importantly, you’ll have a real curiosity about technology and a keen interest in building skills in this area. You’ll be a strong communicator with a logical mindset, strong problem-solving skills, and ability to work effectively in teams. Overall, we’re looking for a commitment and willingness to invest in your learning and development, devoting the time to training and study required.

You’ll be based in either our Advanced Technology Centre in Newcastle or Manchester. You’ll need to be prepared to travel as client projects could take you anywhere in the country (non-study days).

Rewards & benefits

As an apprentice, you’ll be rewarded from day one. Alongside a competitive starting salary, you’ll receive regular performance reviews and a strong support network of mentors and buddies as we continuously invest in your future. And, after 2 years of classroom and on-the-job learning, if you perform well and complete the apprenticeship, you may be offered a permanent position. Our final decision will be based on business demand. Our benefits include:

  • Starting salary range £25,700 - £29,480 depending on experience
  • Structured training
  • Recognised IT qualification
  • Generous holiday allowance
  • 3 days' paid charity leave
