The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical and commercial skillset, with experience in either MEP (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing) or CSA (Civil, Structural & Architectural) disciplines. Experience in complex developments such as data centres, energy, and large-scale infrastructure projects in the Nordic market is highly advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Deliver full pre- and post-contract quantity surveying services, ensuring accuracy, value, and compliance with client requirements

  • Analyse design documentation and specifications to identify cost drivers, risks, and value engineering opportunities

  • Support procurement and tendering processes, including preparation of bills of quantities, tender analysis, and contract documentation

  • Collaborate with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners to develop robust cost models aligned with project objectives

  • Review design development to understand cost implications and manage change control effectively

  • Contribute to benchmarking activities and the development of regional cost intelligence data

  • Provide commercial advice during feasibility and design stages

  • Support senior leadership in enhancing estimating methodologies and driving digital cost management initiatives

  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to Soben’s collaborative knowledge-sharing culture

About You

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline
  • Professional accreditation (e.g., MRICS or equivalent) is preferred
  • Proven experience in quantity surveying and/or estimating roles on large-scale projects
  • Background in MEP or CSA works is highly desirable
  • Experience working within Norway or the Nordic region, with an understanding of local market conditions, procurement routes, and cost drivers
  • Strong understanding of both pre-contract and commercial delivery phases
  • Proficiency with estimating tools and cost management software (e.g., CostX, Candy, Causeway, or similar)
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation and translate this into accurate cost data
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Client-facing experience with the ability to build strong, trusted relationships
  • Familiarity with digital estimating tools, BIM integration, and data-driven approaches is advantageous
