Corporate Functions – Marketing & Communications

You’ll work with a diverse team of innovative marketing and communications experts who focus on the following areas: global brand management and advertising; global events and sponsorships; internal communications; marketing research; media and industry analyst relations; corporate and financial communications; internet marketing; recruitment marketing; client-centric marketing; and industry, service line and geographic marketing campaigns.

Associate Manager, Strategy and Planning
We are looking for an experienced communications strategist to join our global corporate communications team. You should be a natural collaborator, enjoy helping solve complex communications challenges, comfortable with navigating ambiguity, and seeing how all the pieces come together to provide real-time, holistic communications data analysis that helps achieve the best outcome for our global audience.

Accenture is looking for a dynamic media relations professional with news and social media data measurement expertise to join our growing Corporate Communications Strategy and Planning team. The team works across M+C to analyze available data sources and develop insights and intelligence that:

  • Anticipate opportunities and threats to Accenture’s reputation
  • Uncover new opportunities to strengthen Accenture’s brand
  • Decipher and predict the impact of Accenture’s messaging, marketing initiatives, and outreach
  • Provide a clear understanding of Accenture’s position within new and social media including topics critical to our business

The associate manager will be a key member of the global Strategy and Planning team, tasked with improving the quality and organization of the data and analytics that we provide to our senior leaders, business and media relations leads that helps drive and support Accenture’s business.  The associate manager will play a role in working closely with our agencies and vendors to developing regular reporting to our business leaders, analysis of special events, and develop strategic insights based on the communications data available to us across a number channels.

This role will report to Accenture’s Corporate Communications Strategy and Planning Managing Director.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Have a keen understanding of the key issues and trends affecting Accenture’s business
  • Be a proactive, strategic thinker focused on generating relevant analysis in support of Accenture’s content and key topics
  • Possess strong communications skills, with the ability to reduce complex topics into clear concise messaging; including exceptional writing and editing skills
  • Have the creativity and initiative to drive improvements and innovation with our data analysis, even when confronted with internal and external obstacles
  • Have the ability to function effectively within a matrixed organization and support Accenture’s approach to teamwork and collaboration
  • Support and advise business leadership on media relations strategy and messages
  • Support the creation of regular, repeatable, media relations analysis to drive impactful media coverage
  • Partner with external agency to drive creative and proactive improvement


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or other university degree
  • Minimum of 6-8 years’ agency or in-house experience in PR/corporate communications in the marketing, technology and/ or professional services sectors
  • Experience at building strong working relationship and providing strategic counsel to senior leadership
  • Demonstrated leadership, teamwork and collaboration in professional setting
  • Demonstrated knowledge and ability for media measurement tools, tactics and capabilities.


Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.  Superior writing capabilities are essential.
  • Proven ability to quickly and concisely draft a wide range of clear, concise and reporting on news and social media activity
  • Social media familiarity and skills
  • Broad understanding and skills in strategic marketing and communications, especially in marketing/ technology/ professional services
  • Ability to interact and work closely with media contacts representing clients, alliance partners, third-party organizations, vendors, and others.
  • Broad overall business acumen and knowledge of Accenture’s areas of business
  • Strong project management and reporting skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
  • Passion for executing deliverables and programs that are of the highest quality, fully supporting Accenture’s business strategy and are in line with or exceed leadership expectations
  • Strong negotiation and conflict-management skills to resolve complex or disputed issues
  • Ability to influence leadership within Accenture’s large, matrixed organization through relationship-building and strong executive-level presence
  • Strong team skills—ability to work autonomously and independently yet integrate appropriately with Marketing + Communications colleagues across other service areas, industry groups, geographies, capabilities and within corporate communications disciplines.
