What would you do? You will be aligned with Accenture s Finance Operations vertical, serving as the operational manager for Global Payroll Operations within a managed services engagement. You will be accountable for the delivery of contracted payroll operations services across all in-scope countries, managing service quality, SLA performance, team development, and the internal stakeholder relationship. You will drive operational excellence, ensure robust governance and control frameworks, and lead continuous improvement across the payroll operations function. Payroll run execution, gross-to-net processing, tax authority relationships, statutory filings, and final payroll approval authority are handled internally by the business and are not part of this role. Global Payroll Operations covers the end-to-end process of managing international payroll inputs, controls, validation Global Payroll Operations covers the end-to-end process of managing international payroll inputs, controls, validation, and reconciliation activities, ensuring payroll is processed accurately and on time across all in-scope countries. This includes pre-payroll input management, variance analysis, payroll control and validation, post-payroll reconciliation, vendor interaction, and operational reporting. Payroll run execution, gross-to-net processing, and statutory filings are handled by in-country vendors and retained internally; Accenture s role is focused on operational support, validation, controls execution, and exception management within a defined SOP framework.
What are we looking for? • 7+ years of in-depth experience in payroll operations with 2+ years in a management • Strong understanding of payroll legislative requirements across multiple jurisdictions (e.g., US, UK, international payroll regulations) • Deep knowledge of payroll controls and checks, including end-to-end reconciliation, variance analysis, and audit-ready control documentation • Experience managing and developing teams in a GBS, BPO, or shared services environment • Familiarity with payroll and HR systems; knowledge of ERP applications and payroll aggregator platforms • Strong understanding of SLA, OLA, and KPI management frameworks • Payroll certification preferred (e.g., CPP, CIPP or equivalent) • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; experienced in presenting to and managing internal senior stakeholders • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with reporting and analytics tools • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent a plus • Experience with business continuity planning and disaster recovery testing a plus Roles and Responsibilities Accountable for the delivery of contracted payroll operations services across all in-scope countries; ensure services are executed accurately, on time, and in full compliance with defined SLAs and internal controls • Design and implement the operating procedures and principles for day-to-day payroll operations; ensure processes are efficient, well-documented, and audit-ready • Act as the primary escalation point for operational issues and service delivery risks; drive timely resolution and ensure appropriate corrective actions are implemented • Ensure business continuity and disaster recovery plans are maintained, tested, and current • Ensure robust governance and reporting arrangements are in place to support effective management controls across the payroll operations function • Ensure all team activities comply with SOX controls, internal policies, and payroll data security and confidentiality requirements • Prepare documentation and provide support for internal and external audits; represent the payroll operations function in audit and governance forums • Accountable for the identification and implementation of procedural and policy improvements on an ongoing basis to deliver consistent, high-quality service
Roles and Responsibilities: •an ongoing basis to deliver consistent, high-quality service • Lead, develop, and retain a high-performing payroll operations team; ensure the team is appropriately staffed and that team members have the skills required for their roles • Provide team members with clear direction, career development support, and succession planning; conduct or oversee performance management activities • Establish a robust performance measurement framework; recognize and reward individual and team accomplishments Lead or support training and onboarding for regional teams across all areas of payroll operations including controls, compliance, and business continuity • Foster a performance-driven, collaborative team culture; drive engagement and retention of valued team members • Serve as the primary operational interface with internal payroll and finance stakeholders; maintain effective working relationships to ensure alignment on service expectations and issue resolution • Present operational dashboards, KPI performance, and management reports to internal stakeholders on a regular governance cadence • Lead the identification and implementation of process improvement initiatives; propose solutions that reduce processing time, improve accuracy, and enhance controls
