Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Microsoft Purview Technical Architect to lead the design, deployment, and optimization of Purview Data Governance solution across enterprise environments. This role will be instrumental in architecting secure, scalable, and compliant data governance solutions using both GA and private preview features of Microsoft Purview. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, strategic consulting experience, and a strong foundation in data governance frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
Architecture & Deployment
Design and implement Purview infrastructure including networking, security, and integration with Azure-native services and other sources.
Configure private and public endpoints, firewalls, role-based access controls (RBAC) etc. in line with Microsoft and Information Security best practices.
Lead the deployment of GA and private preview features such as data lineage, business glossary, bulk API tagging, and advanced metadata classification etc.
Governance & Strategy
Define and implement enterprise-wide data governance frameworks aligned with DAMA-DMBOK, EDM Council CDMC, DCAM standards etc.
Collaborate with stakeholders to curate business metadata, develop glossaries, and enforce data stewardship policies etc.
Drive adoption of governance tools and methodologies across business domains and technical teams.
Consulting & Enablement
Provide strategic advisory services to clients and internal teams on data governance maturity, operating models, and tool selection.
Conduct workshops, demos, and roadshows to showcase Purview capabilities and onboard data assets.
Mentor and upskill team members on Purview technical configurations and governance best practices.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.

Eligibility for reliability security clearance
-
8-10 yrs experience in data governance, and working in cloud based environments

3+ years’ experience deploying and architecting Microsoft Purview in enterprise environments.

Strong understanding of Azure infrastructure, networking, and security principles.

Hands-on experience with metadata ingestion, data quality integration, and Purview role mapping.

Industry certifications such as CDMP (DAMA), EDM Council CDMC Assessor, or equivalent.

Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (e.g., NIST, HIPAA, CMMC) and compliance tooling.

Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Prior consulting experience in data governance and data management.
English is required for this position as this role will regularly interact with stakeholders across Canada, US and other countries across our Global footprint where English is the common language. Due to the significant high volume of interactions with these English-speaking stakeholders, which is inherent to this position, it is not possible to reorganize the company's activities to avoid this requirement.
Preferred Experience

Experience working with other leading data governance and cataloging tools, such as Collibra, Informatica, etc.

Experience working with cross-functional teams including IT, business SMEs, and cloud security.

Knowledge of Apache Atlas, Python, Databricks, and Azure DevOps pipelines for metadata automation.
