About Accenture CEO Advisory
Accenture CEO Advisory works with chief executives, boards and their leadership teams on the decisions that set enterprise direction: where to compete, what to own, how to fund a shift in the portfolio, and what the operating model has to become to support it. The work sits upstream of execution but is judged on whether it survives contact with it, so we pair industry depth with the quantitative, technology and delivery capability to pressure-test an answer before a client commits capital behind it.
About Accenture Commodity Markets
Accenture Commodity Markets (ACM), part of Accenture CEO Advisory, is a global practice operating across multiple industries. It is one of the few global strategy practices offering a steep cross-industry learning curve alongside genuinely global project experience, working with organisations focused on commodity production, trading, logistics and marketing.
We combine industry knowledge across energy, chemicals, soft commodities, agriculture, metals, mining, utilities, transportation and consumer goods with analytics-led core strategy consulting, digital and AI capability.
Within Accenture we are known for the variety and complexity of the problems we take on, a close-knit global team, early responsibility for our people, rapid career progression and international exposure, having delivered projects in over 25 countries.
Our solution areas are:
Investment and Asset Portfolio Optimisation: portfolio strategy, capital allocation, long-term market modelling, M&A support, and integrated optimisation across physical and financial positions. Trading and Market Optimisation: trading strategy, positioning and risk management through advanced analytics, real-time insight, hedging, algorithmic trading and P&L attribution. Commodity Markets Decision Platforms, Ecosystem and Execution: AI-enabled decision platforms, CTRM and ETRM selection, ecosystem partners (Salesforce, Palantir and others), data architecture, AI model development and automation. Enterprise Activation and Operational Readiness: making sure organisations are ready to operate, trade and optimise from day one, covering operating model design, go-live strategy and capability build-out. Commodity Sourcing and Exposure Management: sourcing, hedging and supplier strategy for commodity-exposed industries, optimising cost, risk and resilience under market volatility.
About the Role in Thailand
ACM in Thailand advises state enterprises, listed energy groups and large industrial corporates on decisions that set their direction for the next decade: how to position a portfolio through the energy transition, what gas and power market liberalisation does to a commercial model, whether an asset or an acquisition earns its cost of capital, and how to stand up the trading and commercial capability a deregulated market demands.
Regulatory and transition depth in the Thai and wider ASEAN energy system runs through most of that work. Third-party access regimes, tariff structures, PPA economics and market design are commercial questions for our clients, and we are expected to hold a defensible view on them.
We also build with AI as a matter of course. Market and competitor scans, document-heavy regulatory review and first-cut modelling run with GenAI in the workflow. That changes how much ground a small team can cover, and it raises the bar on what counts as analysis rather than description.
The Thailand team is small and growing. You will own a workstream and its client relationships early, and you will present your own work to client leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Client Delivery and Development
- Lead project workstreams to closure with limited supervision, from framing the question through to the recommendation you defend in front of the client.
- Work on engagements in Thailand and across Southeast Asia, with access to the ACM global staffing pool for projects further afield.
- Work in cross-office teams spanning ACM Thailand and global ACM, bringing structure and quantitative and qualitative rigour to problems across our solution areas.
- Build and own the analysis behind the answer: financial and operational models, market and asset economics, and the numerical modelling of energy and commodity markets.
- Run client interviews and workshops, build the materials, and hold your own in the conversation about approach and recommendation.
- Work across corporate and portfolio strategy, energy transition positioning, market liberalisation and regulatory response, trading and risk capability set-up, operating model design, commercial optimisation, investment valuation and financial structuring, and balance sheet analysis.
- Use GenAI tooling as a default part of how you work, and take responsibility for the quality of what comes out of it.
- Develop client relationships by staying close to how each client actually decides, and stay market relevant through thought leadership and taking fresh ideas to them unprompted.
Practice Building
- Contribute to ACM Thailand, global ACM and the wider Accenture CEO Advisory community, and to building ACM offerings, assets and thought leadership.
- Support business development by running industry and company research (competitor and market scanning, market fundamentals, financials, customers) and by building proposal materials.
- Coach analysts on your workstream, on both the analysis and how it is communicated.
Required Experience
- An undergraduate degree from a leading academic institution.
- Three to six years of professional experience in strategy consulting, or in a relevant commercial, strategy or corporate development role in industry.
- Strong quantitative skills and comfort owning a financial or operational model end to end, including the assumptions and their defensibility.
- Business case development and financial analysis, with fluency reading and interrogating financial statements.
- Structured, hypothesis-led problem solving, and the ability to take a position where the evidence is incomplete and say what would change it.
- Working proficiency with GenAI tools in analytical work, and the judgement to know where their output cannot be trusted.
- Professional fluency in Thai and English, written and spoken.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality output with multicultural teams under short timeframes.
Desirable
- AI capability that goes beyond tool use, combined with quantitative modelling and commodity market knowledge.
- Sector exposure in energy, utilities, chemicals, agriculture, or metals and mining.
- Understanding of the Thai and ASEAN energy sector and its regulatory institutions.
- Exposure to commodity trading, risk management, or investment and asset valuation.
- International study or work experience.
Location and Working Arrangements
- Based in Bangkok, Thailand.
- Travel across Southeast Asia and, for global staffing, further afield.
- Flexible working arrangements, with the expectation of client site presence where the engagement requires it.
Why Join Us
- The Thailand practice is small and in build phase, so you carry real scope from the first engagement and you are visible to practice leadership from the start.
- Direct exposure to C-suite and board-level decisions at some of Thailand's largest energy and industrial groups, on questions where the answer is genuinely open.
- Access to the ACM global staffing pool, so cross-border and cross-industry project experience does not require leaving the practice.
- Continuous coaching from senior colleagues in ACM Thailand and global ACM, with a specialisation path set out deliberately rather than left to whatever staffing throws up.
- Flexible work arrangements and a competitive rewards package.
