SAP Functional Consultant (Japanese speaking_required )
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced SAP Functional Consultant to support SAP S/4HANA and ECC transformation initiatives for global and Japanese clients. The consultant will work closely with business stakeholders to analyze requirements, design solutions, configure SAP systems, support testing activities, and drive successful project delivery throughout the implementation lifecycle.
The ideal candidate possesses strong expertise in one or more SAP functional modules such as FICO, MM, SD, PP, PM, EWM, or SuccessFactors, with the ability to translate business requirements into effective SAP solutions while collaborating with English-speaking and Japanese-speaking stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Business Analysis & Solution Design
- Gather and analyze business requirements through workshops and stakeholder discussions.
- Conduct Fit-to-Standard and Fit-Gap assessments.
- Design SAP solutions aligned with business objectives and SAP best practices.
- Document business processes, functional specifications, and solution designs.
SAP Configuration & Implementation
- Configure SAP modules based on approved business requirements.
- Support end-to-end implementation activities including blueprinting, realization, testing, deployment, and hypercare.
- Collaborate with technical teams on custom developments, interfaces, enhancements, and integrations.
- Ensure seamless integration with related SAP and non-SAP systems.
Testing & Deployment
- Develop test scenarios, test scripts, and business process validation documents.
- Support SIT, UAT, regression testing, and defect resolution.
- Coordinate data migration, validation, and reconciliation activities.
- Support cutover planning and go-live execution.
Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary functional advisor for assigned workstreams.
- Conduct workshops and solution discussions with business users and client stakeholders.
- Communicate effectively with both English-speaking and Japanese-speaking teams.
- Facilitate user training sessions and knowledge transfer activities.
Support & Continuous Improvement
- Provide post-go-live support and issue resolution.
- Identify business process optimization opportunities.
- Stay current with SAP S/4HANA innovations and industry-leading practices.
Must-Have Qualifications
SAP Experience
- Minimum 3 years of SAP Functional Consulting experience.
- Hands-on experience in one or more SAP modules: SAP FICO SAP MM SAP SD SAP PP SAP PM SAP EWM/WM SAP SuccessFactors
- Experience in: Requirement gathering Fit-Gap Analysis SAP Configuration Functional Specification creation SIT/UAT support Go-Live and Hypercare activities
Language Requirements
- Professional proficiency in English (written and spoken).
- Professional proficiency in Japanese (written and spoken).
- Ability to conduct business discussions, workshops, requirement gathering sessions, and user support activities in Japanese.
- Ability to communicate effectively with global stakeholders and Japan-based clients.

- SAP S/4HANA implementation experience.
- SAP Certification in relevant modules.
- Experience with SAP Fiori applications.
- Knowledge of SAP Activate methodology.
- Experience with Agile project delivery.
- Knowledge of SAP Integration technologies.
- Experience in data migration and master data management.
- Basic ABAP debugging and technical design review capabilities.
- Experience supporting Japanese customers, offshore delivery centers, or Japan-based SAP projects.
