How I put change in motion

I currently work as an Accounts Payables Team Lead, coordinating a team of 12 people to deliver notable outcomes. My team and I ensure that suppliers of our clients receive their owed payments in a timely manner.

 

What I enjoy most about working for Accenture is the many opportunities to grow my career. In the past 3 years I have worked on 3 different projects, across 2 locations (Iasi and Bucharest). Through this, I have been able to work with many people and experience different processes. Also, here I got the opportunity to identify my strengths and use them to develop my soft and technical skills and be given the opportunity of moving to a lead position.

A day in my life

My day starts with a huge cup of coffee! The first thing I do is to distribute the tasks amongst the team members, this requires being flexible around time differences to communicate with the team in Romania and India simultaneously. With the internal communication tools we have inside the company, remote working is easy.

 

The day continues with working on completing my administrative tasks before joining the team in the operational part of the role. I enjoy being an integral part of the team before being the team lead - this is how you’ll be able to understand what your team is dealing with and offer the best support.

 

Outside work, I enjoy spending time with my cat (Murca) and, whenever time allows, playing field tennis and going to the gym.

My advice

My advice would be to not fear the change but to embrace the opportunities as if they were long lost friends. Be passionate about what you do, and the rest will come.
