Global Enterprise Function Legal Lead
The Global Services Legal team is seeking to appoint a Senior Counsel to act as a Global Enterprise Function Legal Lead supporting one or more Global Enterprise Function Leadership teams, as assigned by the Global Legal Lead – Strategy & Consulting. The Global Enterprise Functions include (i) Talent and Organization, (ii) Supply Chain & Operations, and (iii) CFO & Enterprise Value. In-house and private practice candidates will all be considered, but experience of working with international teams in support of a global business is a pre-requisite, and candidates with deep technology and professional services experience will be strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
You will act as a trusted adviser to the applicable Global Enterprise Function Leadership Team(s), enabling the sustainable growth of the applicable Enterprise Function while managing and mitigating risks. You will collaborate with senior stakeholders across Legal and other Corporate Functions to:
- Lead in the legal evaluation of new, strategic priorities and higher risk offerings and services across the applicable Enterprise Function. In doing so you will identify risks and develop mitigation strategies in collaboration with all relevant parts of Accenture, including for example Government Relations, Regulatory & Compliance, Responsible Business, Litigation (as needed), creating global guidance/guardrails to support the sustainable growth of the applicable Enterprise Function(s);
- Assess both existing and new products and services offerings and guide them to market in a legally compliant manner, with appropriate risk mitigations (contractual, operational, technical);
- Collaborate with other teams and participate in initiatives to create frameworks related to cutting edge, cross-industry topics that address technology, ethics, human rights, legal and societal issues;
Help evaluate prospective acquisition targets on behalf of the applicable Global Enterprise Function Leadership Team(s), and work with them to support post-merger integration strategies
Qualifications
Qualifications
- JD degree or equivalent degree or legal qualification.
- Admitted to the bar (or local equivalent) and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law.
- 10+ years legal experience of relevant attorney work.
- Strong commercial, technology, IP and data privacy experience and broad legal knowledge (e.g. spanning product development, litigation, corporate law and governance).
- Familiarity with professional services; including consulting, business operations and technology services.
- Experience serving as product counsel for technology capabilities; with expertise evaluating the development and use of algorithmic models and automation.
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
- Candidates will be:
- Proficient in key concepts relating to existing and emerging technologies;
- Pragmatic, practical and collaborative in their approach to advising and delivering legal support;
- Emotionally intelligent and able to influence internal senior stakeholders, external clients and suppliers;
- Intellectually curious about businesses, how they operate, and how enterprise functions fuel their respective growth strategies; the impact of new and emerging technologies;
- Creative, adaptable and comfortable with ambiguity;
- Embodying a growth mindset;
- Able to guide others in clarifying complex issues and raise critical issues with clients and business teams;
- Excellent and effective written and verbal communicators with experience briefing senior executives;
- Flexible to work global hours where necessary; and
- Highly proficient at speaking and drafting in English.
- Candidates should have a strong understanding of:
- Trends impacting businesses such as digital tools, AI and embedded software, use of data and new technologies, new connectivity options, advances in personalized/autonomous decisioning, and the use of digital twins to reimagine processes;
- Legal issues related to bringing new assets and offerings to market in a legally compliant manner, including offerings utilizing machine learning and third-party data; and
- Public procurement and industry-specific contracting practices.
- Candidates should ideally also have experience in/awareness of:
- Developing trusted relationships with senior Business Leaders;
- Designing product risk mitigation strategies, including identifying operational, technical, and contractual mitigations
- Software development processes and software licensing, both inbound and outbound; and
- Deal shaping and evaluation of innovative commercial models for new product and service offerings.
