Infrastructure & Capital Projects – Civil Inspector, ANS
THE WORK:
- You’ll provide inspection and quality assurance on highway and roadway construction projects.
- You’ll determine whether completed work complies with plans and specifications.
- You’ll coordinate work with the contractor and various public utility agencies.
- You’ll maintain records and reports related to the project.
- You’ll coordinate directly with the general contractor.
- You’ll negotiate change orders.
- You’ll assist in inspections to ensure compliance with contract plans, specifications, and special provisions.
- You’ll assist in preparing contract change orders, contract estimates, progress pay estimates, and other required project documents or reports.
- You’ll coordinate the sampling and testing of construction materials to monitor compliance with contract specifications.
- You’ll monitor and track contractor progress.
- You’ll prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports as required.
- Onsite at client site: The work location for this role is onsite with our clients and partners to enable delivery and cultivate our client relationships.
$126,000 - $150,000 a year
HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- Graduation from a four-year ABET-accredited civil engineering program, or a valid EIT certification may be substituted for the required education
- Minimum two (2) years’ experience in roadway construction inspection of highways or major public works projects performing duties described in this contract
- OR
- Master’s or Doctorate degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited program
- Minimum two (2) years’ experience in roadway construction inspection of highways or major public works projects performing duties described in this contract
BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE:
- Knowledge of Caltrans standards
- Knowledge of the physical characteristics and properties of roadway construction materials including concrete and steel
