The Role
The Security Lead for Health & Public Service (H&PS) is a senior leadership position with direct ownership of the growth, profitability and market positioning of the Cybersecurity practice across the Healthcare and Public Sector industries in Spain and Portugal.
Reporting directly to the H&PS division leadership, this role combines commercial acumen, delivery excellence and people leadership in a high-complexity, high-impact environment.
Key Responsibilities
Practice Leadership & P&L
Full ownership of the H&PS Cybersecurity practice: strategy, pipeline, backlog and financial performance.
Direct leadership of a team of 10 professionals, fostering talent development, a culture of excellence and retention.
Definition and execution of the annual business plan: growth targets, new capabilities and service expansion.
Business Development & Client Relationships
Building and nurturing strategic relationships with CISOs, CIOs and Senior Directors at major healthcare organisations and public administrations.
End-to-end ownership of the commercial process: opportunity identification, proposal development, negotiation and deal closure.
Positioning Accenture as the go-to Cybersecurity provider for the H&PS sector in Iberia.
Delivery & Quality
Overseeing project delivery to ensure quality, timelines and client satisfaction are consistently met.
Integrating Accenture's global capabilities — threat intelligence, security operations centres, AI-powered cybersecurity — into locally tailored solutions.
Risk management and proactive senior stakeholder communication during crises or critical security incidents.
Thought Leadership & Market Presence
Representing Accenture at industry forums, sector events and before regulatory bodies (ENS, NIS2, GDPR applied to health).
Actively contributing to proprietary points of view, publications and market positioning initiatives.
Experience & Education
12+ years of experience in Cybersecurity and/or strategic security consulting.
Proven track record of senior leadership at top-tier firms (Big Four, strategy consultancies, leading system integrators or major technology vendors).
Prior experience managing teams and P&L responsibilities within professional services environments.
University degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science or a related field. MBA or postgraduate qualification is a plus.
Relevant certifications highly valued: CISSP · CISM · CISA · ISO 27001 Lead Auditor · ENS · OSCP
Technical & Sector Knowledge
Strong command of core cybersecurity domains: GRC, security architecture, identity management (IAM/PAM), detection and response (SOC/MDR), cloud security and OT/IoT.
Knowledge of the regulatory framework applicable to the health and public sectors: National Security Framework (ENS), NIS2, GDPR, HIPAA (a plus).
Familiarity with the specific cybersecurity challenges of hospital environments, critical infrastructures and e-government.
Skills & Competencies
Exceptional commercial and networking skills: ability to open doors, build trust and close complex deals.
Executive-level communication: ability to translate technical risk into business language for boards of directors and senior management committees.
Inspiring leadership: capacity to attract, develop and retain talent in a competitive environment.
Results-driven, entrepreneurial mindset and ability to operate with autonomy in high-ambiguity environments.
Full professional proficiency in both Spanish and English (C1 level or above in both languages).
