Intellectual Property Counsel
Job Summary: Accenture seeks an intellectual property attorney with at least 5 years of IP transactional contracting experience to join our global IP team. The successful candidate will support Accenture's intellectual property transactions practice, open source software license compliance and work closely with senior members of the IP Legal team on a broad range of technology, licensing, commercial, and strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drafts, reviews and negotiationes of agreements related to intellectual property and technology transactions, including inbound and outbound software and technology licenses, and other IP-related arrangements.
- Supports the end-to-end review of the use and development with components under free software licenses for diverse product and service teams, with particular focus on Open Source licenses, involving understanding software deployment, intended use, applicable license risks, mitigation strategies, export controls, Generative AI implications, general overview security risk profile, etc.
- Supports the publication of proprietary source code under Open Source Licenses, including reviewing corporate contribution agreements, liaising with software engineers, business leadership and company IP stakeholders, as well as tracking compliance with Accenture’s policies for each step of the process.
- Supports internal stakeholders (such as business clients, other corporate functions, and legal colleagues) on intellectual property issues arising in commercial, strategic, and corporate transactions.
- Assists with identifying, analyzing, and resolving IP-related issues on client, partner, and other business transactions, working closely with senior IP counsel and business teams.
- Supports a variety of IP matters, including technology assessments, joint development projects, content publications, and review of open source software clauses in framework agreements.
- Contributes to the development and maintenance of IP templates, guidance materials, processes, training materials, AI enabled agents and best practices to support the business and reduce legal risk.
- Conducts legal research and prepares practical recommendations on intellectual property and technology-related issues.
Work Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in law / Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school (specialization in Technology and/or Intellectual Property is considered a plus).
- Native Legal English proficiency with strong oral and written communication skills.
Work Experience:
- At least 5 years of experience that includes IP transactions conducted in English at a law firm, or as in-house corporate counsel and/or in legal outsourcing.
- Knowledge of intellectual property issues relevant to the technology sector.

- While Trademarks and Patents knowledge is a welcome addition, the focus of the role relies heavily on skills associated with IP transactional contracting and knowledge related to emerging technologies, including Open Source Software, Large Language Models, Generative AI, etc.
