We are looking for an experienced ONSS Commissioning Engineer to join our team and contribute to the commissioning phase of a major offshore wind farm project in the UK.


The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting and coordinating the commissioning activities associated with the Onshore Substation (ONSS), working closely with engineering, construction, electrical and commissioning teams to ensure the safe and successful delivery of the project.


Key responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate and supervise commissioning activities related to the ONSS.
  • Review and implement commissioning procedures, test protocols and method statements.
  • Coordinate commissioning activities with engineering, construction, contractors and equipment suppliers.
  • Supervise and support the testing and commissioning of electrical systems and substation equipment.
  • Monitor commissioning progress and identify technical issues, risks and interfaces.
  • Ensure that all commissioning activities are carried out safely and in accordance with approved procedures, project specifications and applicable standards.
  • Support the resolution of technical issues arising during testing and commissioning.
  • Review test results and ensure that commissioning documentation is properly completed.
  • Participate in inspections, FAT/SAT activities and system handover.
  • Support punch-list management and final handover of systems.
  • Prepare commissioning progress reports and provide regular updates to the project team.

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
  • Proven experience in electrical commissioning, preferably involving substations, HV systems or large-scale energy infrastructure.
  • Experience in offshore wind, power generation, transmission or renewable energy projects will be highly valued.
  • Good knowledge of electrical systems, HV equipment, protection and control systems.
  • Experience working with contractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Ability to work effectively in an international and multicultural environment.
  • Fluent/professional English – essential.
  • Availability to work in the UK and travel as required by the project.
  • Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive and safety-oriented approach.
