About the Role 
 

We are looking for a Data Engineer who actually likes data. We could be writing that we want “someone who is passionate about building robust data solutions and enabling advanced analytics in the pharmaceutical domain”.  

But we simply want You to care about data, learn and understand the data core logic. You should have a good amount of critical thinking and common sense on top of actual experience developing in Python/SQL - ideally on AWS + Databricks, see below.  
 

This very role has a great purpose – it's a critical data role for designing and maintaining data pipelines to ensure cutting-edge drug development processes. 
 

You’ll join an AI&Data team that is super passionate about AI and GenAI. We have AI experts, we run trainings, and we also teach others—so you’ll be part of a learning-driven, no-BS & innovative environment. 

 

What You’ll Do 

  • Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from diverse sources into data lakes and warehouses.  

  • We do hope you’ll bring some Generative AI skills to the table. If not, you’ll get upskilled real fast – the data industry is changing faster than ever with Generative AI. 

  • Implement data transformation rules and develop data models to support analytics and machine learning workflows. 

  • Collaborate with Product Analysts, Data Scientists, and ML Engineers to make data accessible and meaningful. 

  • Ensure data quality, maintain data catalogs, and leverage orchestration, logging, and monitoring tools. 

  • Apply test-driven development principles to build reliable data solutions. 

  • Contribute to information architecture and follow best practices for version control using Git. 

What We’re Looking For 

  • Strong expertise in Databricks and AWS services (e.g. S3, IAM, Redshift, Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, CloudWatch). 

  • Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT processes and orchestration tools. 

  • Proficiency in Python and SQL. 

  • Experience with GitHub and CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions. 

  • Also we do hope you are using GenAI powered or agentic stack already – GitHub Copilot is a minimum – if not, you’ll get upskilled asap 

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to document processes effectively. 

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of pharma or specifically pharma DSCS domain and pharmaceutical processes such as predicting drug substance stability and assay monitoring – If you know this stuff, that’s awesome—but totally not a dealbreaker!
