Infrastructure and Capital Projects – Chief Inspector (Pipeline), ANS
THE WORK:
- You’ll lead and supervise welding, coating, civil, utility, and environmental inspectors.
- You’ll oversee all phases of pipeline construction, including ROW clearing, trenching, welding, coating, lowering-in, backfilling, and hydrostatic testing.
- You’ll ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations and all project specifications.
- You’ll oversee pipeline work near compressor stations and aboveground facilities, including tie-ins and commissioning support.
- You’ll monitor contractor QA/QC programs and verify welding, coating, and material traceability.
- You’ll maintain accurate inspection documentation, including weld logs, inspection reports, and as-built records.
- You’ll coordinate closely with engineering, construction, operations, and environmental teams.
- You’ll support regulatory inspections and audits.You’ll oversee work in public and environmentally sensitive areas, including road, rail, and utility crossings.You’ll ensure strict adherence to safety standards, procedures, and safe work practices.
$120,000 - $180,000 a year
HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- 12–20 years of pipeline construction experience
- Prior Chief Inspector or similar leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of PHMSA 49 CFR Part 192 regulations
- Experience in natural gas pipeline construction and active utility environments
BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE:
• AWS CWI
• NACE (AMPP) Level 2 or higher
• OSHA 30 or higher
• Experience with compressor station tie-ins or station piping
• Familiarity with environmental compliance and permitting requirements
• Experience with HDD or trenchless installations
• Ability to manage multiple spreads or concurrent projects
