Software Tester
Location: Singapore

The Software Tester is responsible for ensuring high-quality delivery of critical on-premise systems through functional and regression testing. The role emphasizes strong governance, documentation, and collaboration with project teams. Over time, the tester will progressively contribute to automation testing, supporting HDB's cloud-first strategy and centralized automation framework.
Key Responsibilities
Functional & Regression Testing:
Design and execute functional, system, and regression tests in line with governance and quality standards
Derive test cases from requirements, ensuring traceability
Prepare test data, manage environment constraints, and capture detailed evidence
Log, triage, and validate defects; collaborate with teams for resolution
Communicate test results, risks, and quality metrics to stakeholders
Produce and maintain test documentation and reusable regression assets
Automation Testing (Progressive Focus):
Design and develop reusable automated test cases for priority business flows
Build and maintain scalable automation frameworks using enterprise tools (Tosca, Selenium, Playwright)
Support transition to centralized, cloud-based automation environments
Track automation coverage, stability, and quality metrics
Maintain documentation of automation scripts and results
Required Skills & Qualifications
Experience in software testing with strong functional testing knowledge
Ability to design comprehensive test cases from requirements
Strong documentation and evidence capture aligned with governance standards
Hands-on experience with or readiness to adopt enterprise automation tools
Working knowledge of SQL for test data setup and validation
Proficiency in at least one programming/scripting language (Java, Python, JavaScript, C#)
Experience in API testing
Familiarity with defect management tools (Jira, Azure DevOps)
Ability to work effectively in secure/restricted environments
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Formal testing certifications (e.g., ISTQB, Tosca)
Experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines and cloud environments
Knowledge of performance testing concepts
Experience with version control (Git) and Agile methodologies
Background in government, public sector, or regulated IT projects
