Your Role

As a Senior Data Governance Specialist, you will be the architect of the Enterprise Data Foundation. You recognize that high-performing AI is only possible on a bedrock of trusted, high-quality, and structured data. Your mission is to help our clients move past "data chaos" by establishing the core disciplines—Stewardship, Quality, and Master Data—that turn raw information into a strategic asset. You will empower organizations to take charge of their data, ensuring it is accessible and actionable for both human decision-makers and autonomous systems.

Your Main Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Build the "Golden Thread": Lead engagements to define data governance strategies that establish a single version of truth, focusing on Master Data Management (MDM) and cross-functional data standards.
  • Engineer Data Quality Frameworks: Design and implement automated data quality monitoring and remediation workflows to ensure data is "fit for purpose" at every stage of the lifecycle.
  • Modernize Governance Architecture: Shape governance models for modern architectures, transitioning from legacy silos to Data Mesh and Federated Governance models that promote data product ownership.
  • Metadata & Lineage Orchestration: Map the enterprise data landscape by implementing robust metadata management, technical lineage, and business glossaries to ensure full transparency and auditability.
  • Drive "Privacy-First" Foundations: Oversee data privacy and regulatory compliance (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.) as a foundational layer, embedding security and ethics into the very start of the data supply chain.
  • Enable Agentic Readiness: Leverage your strong data foundation to prepare the ecosystem for AI Agentic workflows, ensuring data is structured and labeled for machine consumption.

Your Background

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience: 2 to 6 years in a functional analysis or data-centric role, ideally within a project-based or consulting environment.
  • Modeling Mastery: Proven expertise in Data Modeling (Conceptual/Logical). Deep knowledge of Data Vault or Kimball methodologies is a significant advantage.
  • Technical Literacy: Experience with modeling tools and a solid understanding of Cloud Data Warehousing (Snowflake, Azure Synapse, etc.).
  • Agile Mindset: Comfortable navigating Scrum environments. Product Owner or Scrum Master certifications are highly valued.
  • Governance Fluency: Familiarity with data governance tools like Collibra or Alation is a major plus.
  • Communication: A bilingual or trilingual profile (English + Dutch/French) with the ability to influence both C-suite executives and back-end developers.
