Turn factory data into real-time action with AI agents

Reinvent factory operations with Accenture Factory OS, a Microsoft-native AI product where humans and agents work together to diagnose issues, guide decisions and act in real time.

Factory operations shouldn’t be reactive

Manufacturers have invested heavily in data — sensors, Manufacturing Execution Systems and analytics. But when production issues occur, frontline teams still rely on manuals, experience, or trial-and-error. Systems show what went wrong, but not what to do next.

The result: delays, downtime and lost productivity — compounded by retiring experts and fragmented knowledge.

Accenture and Avanade can help

Accenture Factory OS

Accenture Factory OS connects factory systems and data, using specialized agents to diagnose issues and support frontline action.

It helps reduce downtime, speed up root cause analysis and improve quality across lines, plants and sites.

How it works

Factory OS doesn’t replace existing systems. It connects systems and data, turning fragmented signals into real-time action.

Diagnose root causes in minutes instead of hours, with step-by-step troubleshooting support

Detect and resolve quality deviations early before they impact production

Capture and scale expert knowledge so every operator can act with confidence

Reduce unplanned downtime by 20–40% by shifting from reactive to predictive operations

Scale across lines, plants and geographies with consistent data and agent model

Deploy a foundation once, harvest it many times

Delivering real results for our clients

5–10%

increase in production volumes and quality

10–20%

reduction in operational costs

Frequently asked questions

Factory OS is designed for manufacturers with complex, multi-site operations. Buyers include COOs, VPs of Operations and Heads of Manufacturing seeking reductions in downtime, quality failures and production cost. End users are operators, technicians, quality engineers and shift managers needing real-time guidance on the line. In active deployment across CPG, Automotive, Electronics, Packaging, Industrial Equipment and Life Sciences.

Your MES tracks execution, your historian stores data and your analytics tools show dashboards. None of them close the loop to action. Factory OS sits above all these as an intelligence and reasoning layer — connecting to existing systems via MCP server/APIs, using AI agents to diagnose root causes, guide decisions and trigger follow-up actions. It makes everything you have more useful and enables continuous learning.

Yes. Factory OS is built on an ISA-95-based knowledge graph designed to ingest data from factory systems — including ERP (SAP, D365), historians (OSIsoft PI, InfluxDB), MES platforms (Aveva, Siemens), PLCs, SCADA, QMS and CMMS and others. Accenture OT and partner connectors handle integration. The product is deployed into the client’s own Microsoft Azure tenant, so data never leaves the client’s environment.

No. Factory OS deploys alongside what you already run, using a 2-4-6 approach: a 2-hour session to demo capabilities and shortlist scenarios, a 4-day discovery to confirm the use case and check data and system readiness, and a 6-week deployment on your own tenant connected to your data — proving the value case and producing a joint scaling plan and ROI. Your existing systems stay in place.

Two use cases are live today: Unplanned Downtime Response and Quality/Yield Deviation Response with guided RCA. Both are available for deployment with reference clients. A growing library including shift reporting, continuous improvement, energy management and asset performance analytics is in active development — and because the product uses composable architecture, each new use case deploys faster than the last.

Security and governance are foundational. Factory OS deploys into the client’s own Microsoft Azure tenant — data never passes through Accenture systems. Access is managed via Microsoft Entra ID with role-based controls, secured with Microsoft Defender, Purview and Azure Monitor, with OWASP Top 10 penetration testing. Every agent recommendation is human-in-the-loop: operators approve or override before action is taken.
