We are experiencing a period where humans and technology can finally collaborate in ways that spark faster innovation and greater productivity. Yet, only 11% of organizations are truly ready for effective human-AI co-learning – a gap that presents a huge opportunity for those willing to lead.
At this pivotal moment in the evolution of work, S&P Global recognized that true innovation comes from empowering people to collaborate with technology. As a Fortune 500 firm at the intersection of finance, technology, and data, the company delivers insights that move markets and enable smarter decisions for the world’s largest and most complex industries.
As generative AI reshapes the industry, S&P Global saw a strategic imperative – to lead not just through technology, but by investing in its people. Its proprietary Gen AI tools offered a competitive edge, but unlocking their full value required a parallel investment in AI capability across its 40,000-strong workforce. The challenge was both technical and cultural, requiring a scalable solution that reached every region and role.
To address this, S&P Global launched a globally scalable initiative focused on delivering consistent, high-quality learning experiences. The CEO set a bold vision: preparing every employee – not just data scientists –for the AI future.
S&P Global collaborated with Accenture LearnVantage to introduce the Spark AI Academy – a persona-specific set of learning journeys designed to meet people where they are and equip them for the needs of today and tomorrow. The program included:
increase in gen AI tool usage
training completion
use-case driven prompts
The hybrid learning model blended interactive workshops, self-paced digital modules, live virtual sessions, social learning experiences and interactive workshops – ensuring accessibility and engagement for every employee. Each experience was tailored to be instantly applicable and drive a deeper cultural shift, with gamified challenges and responsible AI training reinforcing ethical and informed adoption. A vibrant internal community, supported by change management and leadership sponsorship, helped embed AI into daily workflows.
This wasn’t just a training rollout – it was a reimagined learning experience, designed around personas, championed by leadership, and embedded into daily workflows like summarizing reports, coding, sentiment analysis, and more.
In the age of AI, our greatest asset isn't the algorithm, it's the talent we nurture and the culture of continuous learning we build. That is the true engine of innovation and productivity.
