Kris Timmermans is head of Accenture’s Supply Chain & Operations practice, leading the global support of clients while helping them reimagine and transform their operating chains to positively impact business, society, and the planet.
Kris’s strategic vision guides a multi-disciplinary team, focused on new ways of working with the transformative power of data and digital technologies. This collaboration across Accenture’s strategy, financial, technology/AI, managed services, and workforce functions, enables customer-centricity while forging a true partnership between human and machine. In this new digital era, successful organizations are emerging with more agile supply chains and operations, built for responsiveness, scale and resiliency – and trusted for their conscious responsibility. This allows for more sustainable and purpose-led growth.
With over 25 years’ experience in this sector, Kris is a pioneer in the evolution towards an Intelligent Supply Chain. Since joining Accenture in 1994, his commitment to customer-centricity has remained constant while leading global supply chain, procurement, and enterprise-wide cost transformations for clients across multiple sectors, including consumer goods, automotive, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, industrial equipment and life sciences.
Kris has been instrumental in building the company’s procurement practice, now a dedicated team of more than 10,000 specialists. Globally recognized for his ability to help organizations develop dynamic, zero-based, customer-centric, responsible supply chains, Kris can meet customer demands and identify new market opportunities needing a technology solution or digital transformation.
Kris has published The Big Zero, a book focused on the benefits of a zero-based mindset (ZBx), has authored several articles on procurement strategy and design, and is a frequent contributor to industry publications. He holds a Master's degree in Mechanical and Electronics Engineering from Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Boston.
