Annette Rippert is Accenture’s group chief executive – Strategy & Consulting (S&C). S&C works with C-suite executives and boards of the world’s leading organizations, helping them accelerate their digital transformation to enhance competitiveness, grow profitability and deliver sustainable value. Annette’s global team of more than 40,000 people includes strategists and consultants, industry and function experts, data scientists and human performance professionals – with a collective mission to help clients apply data, analytics, artificial intelligence, assets and innovation to deliver business outcomes at speed and scale. Annette co-sponsored the launch of Accenture’s Cloud First initiative to address how businesses operate, connect with customers, and embed continuous innovation. A strong champion for 360-degree value for clients, Annette directs her team to address not only economic value but also the value for their people, stakeholders and communities. Annette is a member of Accenture’s Global Management Committee.
Prior to this role, Annette led Accenture’s Technology business in North America, where she delivered significant growth of technology services in the company’s largest market by rapidly expanding the business in new practice areas such as data, cloud, platform services and software engineering. She completed several strategic acquisitions as a catalyst for the transformation. She led expansion of Accenture’s North America on-shore Delivery Centers, launched the North America Liquid Studios and was a leader in shaping the North America Innovation Hub expansion. She guided efforts to reskill nearly 20,000 North American technology professionals in the field of automation, agile development, intelligent platforms, intelligent engineering, and intelligent cloud and infrastructure.
Throughout her distinguished career, Annette has held numerous senior leadership positions across Accenture, including Client Service Group Lead for Accenture’s Communications, Media and Technology operating group and Accenture Federal Services Technology Lead for Applications and Cloud. Earlier in her career, Annette led Practices including Accenture’s Global Network Service; Accenture’s Cable Industry; and Accenture’s Communications Industry Mobility practice; along with numerous Client Account Lead roles. These roles have included responsibility for top-level client relationships, technology innovation, network transformation, large-scale workforce transformation, investment strategies, alliance partnerships, market positioning and talent development, as well as sales, delivery, client satisfaction and business performance.
Annette is a frequent speaker on topics of innovation, leadership, AI and technology in forums such as Fortune CEO Summit, Harvard Business Review, LEADERS Magazine, Fast Company, the US National Intelligence Agency, as well as key industry and partner conferences. She is an author of topics on business change, strategies to harness disruption, and is often quoted by business media outlets. Recognition for Annette’s leadership and groundbreaking client work includes the CIO 100, Smithsonian Computerworld Award and SuperQuest Industry Award.
She was recognized with the Women Leaders in Technology 2021 Excellence in Leadership award by Consulting Magazine and was recognized by the American Business Awards with a 2021 Gold Stevie Award for Achievement in Management – Business & Professional Services. Under her stewardship, Accenture was named a leader in digital business transformation services by Forrester. Annette was also named by Business Insider as one of the most influential people transforming consulting.
Annette is passionate about the opportunities that lie at the intersection of industry, technology and human ingenuity. She is the sponsor of several diversity initiatives with communities and ecosystem partners, champions programs to increase women in the workforce, celebrates women entrepreneurs transforming industries, women leading in Cloud, and advises the MIT and Accenture Convergence Initiative for Industry and Technology. She was recognized by HERoes Involve on the Women Executive Role Model List for 2021 for her work in driving change to increase gender diversity in the workplace. Annette was also recognized by the National Association for Female Executives for her work as a STEM champion for women and girls in technology, and by Women in Technology for her extraordinary vision, talent and mentorship in the field of technology.
Annette joined Accenture in 1986 and was promoted to partner in 1998. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Northwestern University and holds a Masters of Management degree from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University with a concentration on Entrepreneurship and Ventures. She serves on the Northwestern University Board of Trustees and on the Northwestern McCormick School of Engineering Advisory Board.
