Matt is passionate about people, digital and technology. Matt looks after the Strategy & Consulting Service for Accenture in the UK and Ireland. This brings together world-class Industry and Functional Consulting, Strategy, Innovation and Design, Technology Advisory/Strategy and Applied Intelligence expertise.
Prior to this role he was head of Accenture’s UK and Ireland Products business, he lead client teams across diverse industries including retail, consumer goods, life sciences, automotive, industrial, travel and infrastructure. He has worked with many of the FTSE and Europe’s leading companies, helping them to launch new operating models and grow their online capabilities.
Matt’s interest in the role and impact of technology on society was born out of studying History, followed by a masters in Computer Science. Prior to joining Accenture, he worked for a digital agency launching some of the early new digital platforms for retail and consumer clients. He trusts in the potential of technology as a force for good in both personal and business transformation.
Matt believes the most important characteristics in business are having ‘smarts’ and ‘hearts’, in other words performing with integrity, grit, a passion for learning and a team first attitude. He cares deeply about diversity and the planet and is a proponent of diversity’s role in team high performance. When asked what it is all about, Matt believes values are what really matter and - in the end - hopes to leave the world a little better than he found it.
Away from Accenture, Matt spends his time with his family and is happily married to Chrissy. Together they have three wonderful children - Jess, Sam, Jack - and live in their recently renovated house in Weybridge with new arrival Buddy the puppy! Matt attempts to avoid ‘middle age spread’ by using his precious spare time training for and competing in triathlons.
