Omar Abbosh is Accenture’s chief strategy officer. He is responsible for leading the Growth & Strategy organization and overseeing all aspects of the company’s strategy. In this role, Mr. Abbosh has management responsibility for Accenture’s industry programs and investments, the Accenture Institute for High Performance, Accenture Research and the company’s innovation programs. In addition, he is responsible for the company’s corporate citizenship initiatives, including Skills to Succeed. He is also a member of Accenture’s Global Management Committee.
Before being appointed to his current position in March 2015, Mr. Abbosh was senior managing director—Growth & Strategy for the Resources operating group, responsible for shaping its strategy and acquisition activities. In addition, he was responsible for several of Accenture’s industry business services including Accenture Smart Grid Services and Accenture Energy Consumer Services. Prior to that, he was managing director of Accenture’s Resources business in the United Kingdom and Ireland. This role spanned Accenture’s consulting, technology and outsourcing work for major international oil, metals and mining and utility companies. He also led Accenture's Utilities business globally, while serving as the global client lead for a leading multinational company. Mr. Abbosh has expertise in advising client executives on major strategic issues for their businesses, as well as on organization design, operating model transformation, leadership development, mergers and acquisitions.
Mr. Abbosh joined Accenture in 1989 and became a partner in 2000. He holds a degree in electronic engineering from Cambridge University and a master’s degree in business administration from INSEAD.
