Accenture Operations' Impact Sourcing programme recruits previously disadvantaged youth and develops them into a skilled workforce. This programme is proving to be an excellent learning ground for interns keen to truly understand the BPO sector.
Watch this video to learn more about the impact of the programme on the lives of the interns and for Accenture.
Our Impact Sourcing programme is split into two areas of specialty: Interns and Work Study Students (WSS). These two areas allow us to shape a uniquely skilled workforce that is flexible, adaptive and responsive to how our business operates - a liquid workforce.
High performing interns are offered a permanent position with Accenture within a talented and dedicated team, supporting our aim of helping to mitigate South Africa’s skills shortage.
Growth in number of Interns and Work Study Students
Training underprivileged graduates and giving them valuable work experience.
A solid foundation on which young people can build a career, and the confidence to navigate through these careers effectively: we strive to enrich communities through our commitment to support skills development and job creation in South Africa.
Positive impact on the community: previously disadvantaged youth are equipped with critical skills, empowering them to help improve the lives of the families they support and the communities in which they live.
Increasing youth employment: Accenture aims to contribute to the economy of South Africa by ensuring our liquid workforce has the necessary skills to be employable, flexible, and adaptable.

Toastmasters International: to master impromptu communication and presentations.
Access to a host of programmes that cover anything from business and teaching skills, to change management, documentation development, and contract and stakeholder management.
Giving back to the community and raising awareness about Accenture initiatives and opportunities.
Developing a skilled workforce that can contribute to their communities.
Building knowledge capital to enable conversion of skills into jobs within the Operations sector.
Building market visibility to become better known for Impact Sourcing.
Although the BPO Internship Programme began in 2015 and the Work Study Student Programme in 2016, we are proud to share that since 2006 Accenture has taken on a total of 371 interns across Accenture Technology and Accenture Operations.
