Accenture Interactive and SoftBank Robotics officially launched their select partnership during the 2016 Pepper Partners Event at Innorobo Paris, where Accenture Interactive showcased a ground-breaking Pepper-based prototype that blends human and artificial intelligence to drive superior omni-channel customer service and commerce. This collaboration with one of the world’s most advanced humanoid robotics players will see Accenture Interactive investing in continued R&D to explore the future of customer experience, including customer service and commerce, incubating the next generation of solutions with a three-to five-year horizon. “Through our vision of Living Services, Accenture Interactive believes that the future of digital customer service will be about striking a balance between human and artificial intelligence to deliver superior and seamless customer service, at scale,” explained Inés Guzmán, managing director and Digital Customer Service lead—Accenture Interactive.
Accenture Interactive’s R&D team first started working with Aldebaran in 2013. In 2014 we began work on Pepper, bringing patent-pending hybrid intelligence to the robot’s brain and designing ground-breaking business applications. In July 2015 we brought a SoftBank Robotics robot to the Innovation Lions Discovery Stage, part of the Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity, to showcase our work on digital customer service R&D. Since then we have demonstrated and explored interactive robotics applications with hundreds of clients who have visited our Accenture Interactive Innovation Center in Sophia Antipolis. “The ability for us to enhance SoftBank Robotics’ platform with enriched social intelligence, awareness and machine learning, in addition to its promising ability to scale, mirrors our Accenture Interactive R&D ambitions to help clients provide a first-class experience to their customers and build brand loyalty,” confirmed Alexandre Naressi, managing director and R&D lead—Accenture Interactive. “And we are now working with SoftBank Robotics to break new grounds, explore new creative ways to help solve our clients’ biggest challenges, and discover new opportunities across several industries.”
