Usher’s New Look: Digital strategy for next generation online experience

UNL engaged Accenture’s assistance with developing an online, interactive training platform.

Overview

UNL is a nonprofit organization dedicated to engaging disconnected youth in finding a path to leadership and career, founded by Usher Raymond IV. To connect with today's youth, UNL needed to:

  • Understand the digital ecosystem in which they operate

  • Reach them through a more effective, online experience

That's where Accenture came in. Using digital strategy and analytics assets, Accenture developed a cutting-edge, Web platform that helps UNL reach out to young men and women.

Opportunity
UNL supports the development of young leaders through a combination of peer-to-peer engagement, mentoring and online self-directed programs.

To successfully reach and engage with today’s youth, UNL needed to learn how to connect with them, track their digital habits and understand the digital ecosystem.

Solution

Accenture helped UNL achieve digital fluency with its youth constituents by leveraging what students use in their daily lives—their mobile devices.

Accenture custom designed and built “iLEAD”—an online, interactive, curriculum-based platform to provide data management and tracking for students and parents as they move through the program.

The new mobile application is fast, efficient, collaborative and scalable.

Results
Through the iLEAD platform, UNL is able to better track the progress of enrolled students, which allows the foundation to certify more young people per year.

The organization boasts a 100 percent graduation rate among its participants and 98 percent of UNL students go on to higher education or new careers.
