Why Accenture

Accenture’s groundbreaking work with state and local government agencies across California reflects our commitment to helping our clients achieve high performance. We work with agencies to bridge the gap between government, citizens and business for better outcomes, including:

  • California Child Support Automated System (CCSAS) – Accenture played a key role on the project to build, operate, and manage the new statewide California Child Support Automated System (CCSAS). Accenture led the application development and maintenance efforts for the new child support system, which includes the design, build, test, and user training phases.

  • California Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA) – Accenture is teaming with the California Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA) to implement an integrated enterprise licensing system that will simplify citizen interaction with the Department, streamline the overall licensing process, and enhance the Department’s online service capabilities for both citizens and businesses.

  • California Franchise Tax Board (FTB) – Accenture is part of a team that is providing the California Franchise Tax Board (FTB) with technology architecture and an enterprise data warehouse to help the organization more effectively deliver and manage its mandated services.

  • California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS) – Accenture helped modernize the largest public pension system in the country and the world’s third largest pension system in the world.

  • Caltrans – Accenture helped the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) to implement PeopleSoft Human Resources (HR), Time and Labor, Certification and Licensing and Workers Compensation functions to enhance time entry procedures and enable employee self-service.

  • Consortium C-IV – Working with 39 California counties, Accenture helped integrate human services to streamline the management of multiple benefit programs for caseworkers and customers.

  • Joint Venture Silicon Valley Network – Accenture conducted primary and secondary research and collaborated with Joint Venture to assemble more than 90 case examples of cross-jurisdiction collaboration domestically and across the globe.

  • >Staff Central Statewide Implementation – Accenture teamed with Caltrans to upgrade the technology platform and roll out Web-based self-service to the remainder of the department’s approximately 24,000 employees.

Giving Back to the Community
Accenture is a good corporate citizen, committed to California communities and part of the strong fabric of this great state. We are a member of the California Chamber of Commerce, Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce, Los Angeles Economic Development Corporation, San Diego Chamber of Commerce, San Diego Economic Development Corporation and the California Space Authority, among others.

Locally, Accenture collaborates with KCET Public Television, Junior Achievement, Children's Institute, California Science Center, L.A. Works—a HandsOn affiliate—and United Way to sponsor programs that make California a better place to live and work. We also work with nonprofits as diverse as Best Buddies and the Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund (MALDEF).

Through its ‘Skills to Succeed’ corporate citizenship initiative, Accenture aims (by 2015) to equip 250,000 people worldwide with the skills they need to get a job or build a business. In California, Accenture has partnered with the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) to provide basic mentoring and coaching in the areas of resume writing, mock interviewing, presenting and networking. Through this partnership, Accenture has hosted a series of job skills seminars where more than 450 LACCD students have been able to network with over 300 Accenture employees to gain the skills necessary to attract employers and begin successful careers.
