John Cusano is Accenture’s senior managing director of Global Insurance. He is responsible for setting the industry group's overall vision, strategy, investment priorities and client relationships.
Mr. Cusano joined Accenture in 1988 and has held a number of leadership roles in Accenture’s insurance industry practice. He led Accenture’s North America Insurance client service group and, prior to that, Accenture’s Insurance Software Solution Group. Mr. Cusano has overseen a number of large client relationships and the execution of projects ranging from strategic consulting to multi-year global programs to transform company operations.
Mr. Cusano chairs Junior Achievement of New Jersey’s North Board of Directors. He received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Virginia and a Masters of Business Administration from New York University’s Stern School of Business.

Michael Lyman is managing director for Insurance within Accenture Strategy. His role focuses on business strategy development and implementation. He also serves as executive sponsor for the Accenture Chief Operating Officer Network, as a member of the Accenture Insurance Advisory Board, and as a member of the Accenture Strategy Leadership Team.
Mr. Lyman has more than 30 years of experience working with C-suite executives on major disruptive trends and transformational issues. During that time, he has led several industry research projects and has acted as a commentator on trends transforming the industry.
Prior to joining Accenture Mr. Lyman served as executive vice president at BearingPoint. He held several leadership positions including: global lead Management Consulting, global lead Financial Services; global lead Healthcare, chief strategy officer, chair of executive Institute for Research and Innovation and member of the firm's Executive Committee.
Mr. Lyman has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois and a Master of Business Administration from Northwestern University, Kellogg School of Management. He is based in Chicago, United States.
Michael Costonis is managing director of Accenture’s Insurance practice for North America. He is responsible for setting the overall vision and strategy for the practice, as well as pursuing new client relationships.
Costonis has 20 years of experience developing, managing and deploying large scale technology systems, business processes, and strategies for some of the world’s leading insurers, including property & casualty, life, and multi-line insurance companies. In his career with Accenture, he has worked with more than 50 leading insurance clients in 14 countries around the world.
In addition to his role as North America industry executive director, Costonis is the lead for Accenture’s global claims services. In that role, he oversees claims strategies, assets, capabilities, and sales development. He also has led Accenture’s Insurance Solutions practice in North America, where he was responsible for driving growth for Accenture’s asset-based business in Insurance, including claims, underwriting, and policy administration.
Michelle Krause is a managing director of Accenture and leader of the firm’s North America Insurance Client Service Group, with management responsibility for the Claims, Policy, Distribution and Finance & Risk consulting areas. She is a senior leader responsible for helping insurers develop, manage and deploy large scale technology systems, business processes and strategies. In her career with Accenture, which spans almost 20 years, Krause has worked with many of the top insurance carriers in the industry, assisting them in their efforts to become high-performance businesses. Her expertise lies in insurance processes, product and policy management, claims management and underwriting, focused primarily on the areas of financial services insurance, and property and casualty insurance. As Client Service Group leader, Krause and her teams develop strategies to help insurers address capacity and infrastructure constraints, streamline and standardize processes, and develop custom-built policy administration platforms.
Thomas Meyer is the Insurance lead for Accenture in Europe, Africa and Latin America, and the managing director for Accenture Switzerland. He has been a consultant with Accenture since 1987, specializing in the execution of complex international projects in multiple sectors. His primary focus now is on conceiving, planning and implementing new business models and business process change, and supporting them through information technology and innovative partnerships which are built to last.
Naoyuki Shibata has extensive experience with multiple business transformation projects for domestic and multi-national Life and non-Life Insurance companies in Japan. He has experience in a wide range of activities including business operation strategy development, information system planning, implementation and deployment. Naoyuki Shibata is a senior client project director, engaged in sales support planning, CRM application design and international business strategy development, as well as application outsourcing and maintenance process BPR. Recently he was involved in driving an initiative to activate a sales channel for a Life/Non-Life insurance company and focusing on reengineering of their IT function.
