IDC MarketScape recognizes Accenture as a Finance and Accounting BPO Leader

Buyers rated Accenture very highly for its ability to integrate with client teams and for its global infrastructure.


In its “Worldwide Finance and Accounting BPO Services 2015 Vendor Assessment,” IDC MarketScape recognizes Accenture as a Leader in providing finance and accounting (F&A) BPO services, citing Accenture’s ability “to create an environment of integrity, compliance, transparency and control” with its clients.

The IDC MarketScape also notes that “buyers of F&A BPO services rate Accenture very highly for its ability to integrate its own project team with the client's F&A team as well as its ability to optimize the ratio of onshore and offshore efforts. In addition, buyers highly rated Accenture's global infrastructure including the presence of local offices and resources to meet the client's needs.” The IDC MarketScape also rated Accenture highly for its future portfolio and cost management plans.

IDC MarketScape: Finance and Accounting BPO Services

IDC MarketScape vendor analysis model is designed to provide an overview of the competitive fitness of ICT suppliers in a given market. The research methodology utilizes a rigorous scoring methodology based on both qualitative and quantitative criteria that results in a single graphical illustration of each vendor’s position within a given market. The Capabilities score measures vendor product, go-to-market and business execution in the short-term. The Strategy score measures alignment of vendor strategies with customer requirements in a 3-5-year timeframe. Vendor market share is represented by the size of the circles. Vendor year-over-year growth rate relative to the given market is indicated by a plus, neutral or minus next to the vendor name.


The IDC MarketScape evaluated 18 F&A BPO providers with global services portfolios, looking at a variety of success factors including: reduction in clients’ operational costs; ability to spur growth; managing the basics throughout the lifetime of the contract; ability to scale up or down as needed; and providing qualified people.

Recognizing that all providers evaluated in the study provide competent, basic F&A BPO services, the IDC MarketScape distinguished companies in the Leaders category by their “ability to overlay F&A BPO services with 3rd Platform services that include automation, analytics, and mobility.”
