At Accenture, the success of our women around the globe is key to our success, and we are committed to supporting their professional goals and aspirations—which are as unique as the women who deliver high performance every day.
With more than 140,000 women—more than one-third of our global workforce—we strive to provide an environment and culture that empower them to define their personal approaches to success. To this end, in March 2012, we introduced our global women’s theme—"Defining success. Your way."—which focuses on developing leaders, empowering women and enabling women to thrive.
In recognition of Equal Pay Day 2016, Ellyn Shook, Chief Leadership & Human Resources Officer, Accenture, talks with Marge Magner, Founding member and Partner, Brysam Global Partners and Lead Director of Accenture Board of Directors about the challenges of attaining equal pay, Accenture's commitment to gender and pay equality, and what Accenture is doing to close the gap.
This year, Accenture will celebrate International Women's Day with the theme, Being Greater Than. It's about going beyond boundaries and expectations. It's about raising our voices and our sights to advance the women, the ideas and the goals that will drive the next generation of leaders. It's not just a movement. It's how we work and live. Everywhere. Every day.
Through our global women's theme, "Defining success. Your way.," we strive to provide an environment, culture and programs—such as our women’s network and employee resource groups—that empower our women to define their personal approaches to success.
Accenture regularly conducts research on topics that have an impact on women and their careers, including work-life balance, skills readiness, stretch roles and gender equality. Our latest research, Getting to Equal: How Digital is Helping Close the Gender Gap at Work, released as part of Accenture's 2016 celebration of International Women's Day, proves that digital fluency—the extent to which both men and women have embraced digital technologies to become more knowledgeable, connected and effective—is helping to close the gender gap and level the playing field for women in the workplace.
In their own words. Our women share their diverse career experiences—their secrets to success and things they wish they knew “back when.” Other videos demonstrate how Accenture celebrates International Women’s Day and recognize our commitment to developing women.
